re: Remove

I will have some more thoughts on next season later - but my absolute number 1 thing is to get most of the covid seniors out of the balance beam lineup. Beam has been our absolute weakest event for the last two seasons - if we keep them in there for the whole season, then not only is it likely they will continue to underperform, we won’t give any of our underclassmen (or juniors) an opportunity to get experience.

I know people think I am too harsh on the covid senior group but my thoughts are that Edwards should only do vault and be used as a backup on floor; Durante should only do bars; desiderio should only do beam, but trade off the lead spot with whoever is the future of that spot; dean has shown the most consistency on beam and so I would be ok with her being a rock for us again, and Campbell, as beautiful as she is, should only do beam if her body can handle it and she can mentally perform in meets.

I am trying to be optimistic that she is over the injury hurdle but the poor girl has been dealing with it for years. Hopefully they can manage her body well enough to have her consistently competing on her better events. I would like her in the floor lineup this year.

Anyone know why she wouldn’t have had the surgery earlier in the summer to give her more time to recover? Now who knows if she’ll be able to compete this year, depending on which surgery she’s having and the recovery time.

I heard some things but she has said she wants to go on visits before committing although has said she will when the time is right. Alyona was a silent for months before officially announcing

It doesn't seem to matter how many elites land in Florida Cinderella turns into a pumpkin when the clock strikes post season. One of these seasons everything will line up right for LSU and they will win that elusive championship and will embark on a decade resembling Bertman and baseball. They have been close. Ever so close. Time to kick that door in.

I think my first post on this was lost in all the discussion about Arkhansas and auburn but wanted to point out Aleah had Foot surgery yesterday. Wishing her the best. Would be a huge bummer if she can’t make it back for season or is limited to just bars.

That seemed to be my understanding of it too. Plus with the 4 that we have and the way they handled Alyona, Kai, McKenna and Gunter’s achilles injuries, I doubt they’ll rush her back into the all around for the first meet if she isn’t ready for it but pace her to be able to do all 4 by post season. Especially since she is coming off of an elite career

Told y’all to keep watching I know she wanted to go on her visits but she has been close to pulling the trigger on committing for a bit.
