Alyona has a difficult beam routine. Seen her working an Onodi

I’m assuming they are going to attempt to get her out there this weekend. They have been pushing to get her in this lineup.

What is her routine composition besides the onodi? Have you seen her leap series? Please don't say its the switch leap + switch 1/2. I am so over that combination. None of our gymnasts can consistently hit 180 degrees.

Anyone know the status of Edney (or even Edwards)? I think there is an opportunity for some good scores this weekend - if vault can have some help.

What is the general feeling about postseason? Will we make a regional? In the past that’s never been in question, but is this year different? I know this season has seen injuries and lower scores, but I’m wondering if we are in danger of missing out or we don’t have anything to worry about.

My two cents: we will definitely make regionals. However, I think, unless we see a lot of improvement, making nationals (by being top 2 at our regional site) is unsure. This is especially true if our scores don't improve and we receive an unfavorable regional draw. I would say even if we make it to nationals our chance of making it Four on the Floor are less than 25%. Absent a bad meet, UCLA, OK, and FL are locks and we just haven't been consistent this year. Its certainly not out of the question though if everyone can get healthy.

LSU is making regionals. Unless there is some type of major injury to end the year. to key people, anything less than making top 8 to reach national semifinals would be a major disappointment/under achievement given our talent level. In order to make four on the floor, we have to get people healthy and clean up on a few routines. We have quite a few routines that we want no where competing in the post season. I will be honest, the #4 seed is wide open for a lot of teams to the taking. We would have to peak at the right time.

We need to get Kai and Desiderio in on floor. We need to get Edwards back healthy. We need to get Alyona cleaned up on bars and beam (cleaning up routines). Rau needs to keep progressing or maybe Alyona or Durante make a major stride to end the year on vault. Some of these things would dramatically raise our team scores. None of it is out of reach whatsoever but the little things add up.

Does LSU have a strategy to handle the two meet weekend? Rough time to have two meets...

Original plan is to get Edney on vault at least. Alyona on beam at some point.

If Desiderio is serviceable on floor they may take Kiya out of floor and the AA to get her some rest before Kentucky. She has been doing AA every week with some aches. If not we may have to use her. We don’t have much depth across the board due to injuries.

Getting Edney on vault would be a dramatic help. I think we can survive without her on bars temporarily. We are counting too many sub 9.8 scores on vault. Kai has to get back to drilling her vaults, same with ruby.

I’m tempted to get Flogymnastics for the meet tonight and only pay for the month. I know their broadcasts are usually terrible, but McKenna will be one of the girls commentating. She talked about it on her podcast. Hmm...

Do any of you have it?

What a vault rotation!!! Just shows what they are capable of. It will be very very interesting to see if they can keep up this level for 3 more rotations.

I’m thrilled for The 10 but Ruby getting back in the groove on vault is super important. When she is on she is usually on the entire meet.

Does anyone know if Gunter is injured - I’m watching flo now and she seems to be on crutches ?! So happy with the vault rotation but sad if Gunter is injured again !

That is a shame if she is injured. At the same time, she is our worst floor worker. If we had more depth then it is so issue. Not sure who fills in but when Edwards is back this is no issue.

Also its time to move Kiya down the lineup on bars. That type of routine should not. be leading off at this point.

Alyona's score was a bit generous but it was a good routine. I thought the main thing was the double layout form and the pirouette on the low bars but you see the confidence growing.

So we have 9.95, 9.95, and 9.875 on bars but nothing else I can find. Just need two decent scores in the 9.8 range for a very good bars total.

What was Ruby's score on bars?
