yeah but LSU has some real draft risks in this class both position players and pitchers

It's why they already have three jucos aboard as well

Yeah, that's why I don't think we're done recruiting for this class yet. I could see more JUCO guys joining the class. And with the one-free-transfer rule coming in January, we may hit that market as well.

That would help balance out the roster a bit.

Moller is one that will likely not make it to campus
As highly rated as romo last season

Leto might fall like crews did so he may make it to campus

Thank you for the updates. I saw a tweet with Moller in LSU gear as a little kid, that's cool. I'd like to hear more about that.

Also saw the Lansville tweet, and Kudrna as well.

Connor Simon is supposed to sign this weekend.

LSU picked up a big time pitcher commit that doesn't seem to be widely announced yet. Grant Fontenot from Lafayette was committed to Texas A&M but is now showing on his twitter bio as an LSU commit. He is a 2021 RHP. Perfect Game just announced him as the number one player in the class for 2021 in Louisiana.

ETA: His twitter bio picture is him signing his LOI with LSU while I guess technically he was still publicly committed to A&M. Something you see in football recruiting, but not as much in baseball. This puts us at 55/40 for next season, it also adds one more to the list of players to keep an eye on for the draft.

I posted it on the last page.

2021 season unlimited
2022 40
2023 38
2024 35

LSU is in good position for that. Some schools had 50 plus guys in fall practice.

Grant Taylor

Project, I saw on Cole Henry’s Instagram that his younger brother, Cason, is a teammate of Taylor’s and that Cason signed with Miami.

You’ve probably discussed this before, so apologies in advance, but did LSU not offer Cason? Does he not have the talent level of Cole? Just curious b/c Miami is obviously a high baseball program with a lot of tradition, so just based on that I assume Cason would’ve been LSU material.

I’m not sure if we offered the younger Henry or not. There is yet another one committed to South Alabama. There are some Taylor’s from Florence that pitch at Arkansas. I think one of them is Grants brother but I’m not sure because Arkansas doesn’t put that kind of info in the players bios.

Every once in a while in this thread I will throw a name out there of a (normally JUCO) player that I hope we recruit. Looking on PBR at the JUCO trackman measurements for the various scout days they've done across the country.

There is an outfielder from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M named Mathieu Vallee that was at the top of the list for 60 time (6.26), 2nd in OF throwing velo (95 mph), and also had 95 mph exit velo. His hand speed and bat speed are well above average. I don't think we necessarily need to add a JUCO outfielder to the class, but in the interest of recruiting the best players available, he'd be worth a look.

In 16 JUCO games this past spring he hit .396 with one home run and 21 stolen bases.

The only coach/school I could tell is on him right now is Will Davis/Lamar.

I agree. He’s my cousin’s son. Great kid and also a great student. I believe he made a 32 on his ACT.

I was curious what you guys were thinking about the Catcher position. Milazzo is now a draft risk, the two 2021 Catchers could be draft risks. I think we have to look hard at the JUCO route, even if one of the freshmen make it to campus.

That’s been a concern of mine since they moved the draft back. I would think they’d look at juco catchers playing their freshman year right now or look in the transfer portal after this season.

Milazzo will have to be better at the plate to worry, huh

We may be looking in the 4to4 transfer market as well, but I don't know for what season. We're looking at an Ivy league middle infielder that played summer ball with/against other guys we're recruiting or are on the team. But he's not in the portal on D1Baseball's site (which hasn't been updated recently) and I don't know if he's looking to transfer at the break or what.
