re: LSU Baseball 2020 (and beyond) Recruiting Thread
Still trying to confirm this, but I keeping seeing things that indicate Ray Torres is still committed to LSU. He was in last years class, but ended up at San Jac this year. He's not showing as committed to LSU on his twitter bio (which is probably the biggest indicator), but I've seen him referenced as an LSU commit by JUCO prospect writers on Twitter.

Canadian RHP commit Theo Millas will be pitching for the Canadian Junior National team on Sunday against the Blue Jays. This one looks like it's going to be on the backfields, so there may not be a box score or a way to watch or anything.

He's also scheduled to pitch against them on the 12th in a more formal game, that may have TV coverage, etc.

We are still waiting to see how the MLB draft will be affected by the CV precautions being taken.

One of the effects I think we will see on players though is that if the necessity to postpone events dies down, Summer Leagues will still play as scheduled. But they may have a lot more pitchers available to them than they have in several years.

Coaches will be more willing to send arms out for the summer to get them the innings they missed out on during the regular season.

I’m interested to see how many high school games get cancelled. As you said there won’t be much to see from a scouts perspective.

LSU could get some good players that slip through the cracks.

re: LSU Baseball 2020 (and beyond) Recruiting Thread
The more I think about this and I would like yalls thoughts as well.

If the NCAA does in fact grant everyone another year of eligibility, roster expansion, scholarships amended etc...

I think we may actually see a bump in top high school players taken off the board early and this is why...

The college crop I do expect the top tier juniors to leave however in some cases you’ll have a junior (2 years of eligibility left) or a draft eligible sophomore (3 years of eligibility left) after this waiver. Depending on where they are drafted and if lower than hoped will have a mulligan to do better if you are following my drift. Now this will be a global problem and not something that will benefit a certain school per say.

The high school seniors may see this as a threat on playing time and in essence could become “more singable” depending on who is in front of them in college.

Example - Cole Henry goes round 4. Does he think he’s a late 1st rounder? Does he want to risk another year in college.

There could be some extremely unbalanced powers in college next year with a little luck. I feel for some of the top teams this year with top heavy junior lineups who are top 100 prospects.

It’s not going to be only LSU loading up. It will be every team in a P5 conference

We are still recruiting JUCO guys for next year. So there is still a ton up in the air on all this.

ETA: Specifically a JUCO 3B in Florida. I wonder if this is an indication on what they feel Mathis will do.

Just wondering—and if you can’t/don’t want to answer, that’s ok, but are you connected to the program at all? You always seem to have inside info on who we are recruiting and stuff, and I never can find any info on that.

No connections at all, I just have a few different places that I look for clues. A lot of it is following breadcrumbs on Twitter.

Any sources you can shout out? Or would you prefer to keep it low key?

No real sources. I mainly track Nolan Cain's follows on Twitter. Like in the past couple days he started following Roberto Pena, a bounceback from Florida that played this past season at College of Central Florida.

It's not always a great way to tell a commitment is imminent, but it tells me they're at least communicating with a guy.

If I see a new follow, I research the name.

ETA: It's how I was able to figure out who Zack Mathis and Zach Arnold were before any actual reporters reported on their signings.

re: LSU Baseball 2020 (and beyond) Recruiting Thread
Wes Toups is now expected to play in the Northwoods League for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. CJ Willis, Hayden Travinski, and Collier Cranford are also scheduled to head there as well. Toups was previously scheduled to go to the Cape. The article mentioned he is the third LSU player going to Wisconsin Rapids, but obviously it looks like 4 are going there. Will wait to see how that shakes out.

Other updates I found today are that Alex Milazzo is no longer on the roster for the Charlottesville TomSox (Valley League) but Jacob Hasty and MaKhail Hilliard are, along with Mitchell Sanford who was already scheduled to go there.

Milazzo may be scheduled for a more high profile league now.

This also help strengthen my belief that we will see more pitchers in leagues this summer than we normally do.
