I wonder what the deal is about Torres. It's weird he didn't talk about him.

Noticed that also. I’ve seen speculation of him being a candidate to play infield. I’m hoping that’s all it is but there’s been a lot of opportunities for PM to mention him and he hasn’t

That’s the second time he discussed the catcher position next year and didn’t mention him. Unless they just don’t think he has any chance to play catcher, it’s pretty telling.

He’s started catcher in all of his summer games. If LSU doesn’t think he’s a catcher he wouldn’t be playing there in the summer..

Where is LSU at, as far as numbers?

Based on publicly available information, taking into account the expected signings of Josh Smith, Zach Watson, and Jimmy Lewis: 36/35. 18 of those are pitchers, 18 are position players.

I found another name that fits the description of a guy committed to a school that fired their coach (kind of, he "stepped down") and was drafted but has not signed. He's a high schooler not a JUCO kid. I'm hesitant to mention a name in case there is any way it could frick up the process. But he's from Southern California and was/is committed to a Pac 12 school with flashy football uniforms.

Good stuff project. I came here hoping to find out who these kids are. Sounds like they have some potential.

There's another kid who signed with Loyola Marymount that the Padres drafted.

That is Dave Roberts' son. I haven't found a connection between him and LSU yet like I did for the other two, but that doesn't mean he's not one of the candidates.

Having gone through all of the vacancies and their commitment lists on Perfect Game's site, I'm almost sure it's the kid the Orioles drafted.

There are only a couple of other kids on the list who got drafted, and the kid the Orioles drafted is the one who looks like somebody we would want much more than the other two.

This may or may not have been said and isn’t really relevant to this thread but Florida is getting a 7th rounder (pitcher) from high school to bypass the minors and go to Florida...

That's a brand new commit, thanks for bringing it here. I'll add him to the list.

That's really odd because seems like the only guys who dont sign are some 1st rounders occasionally now in Top 10 rounds.

Something big time must have fell through for him to say that, or maybe it's a hail mary attempt for him to get what he wants, a lot of times that's the case. Brandon Sproat - slot value of $222k.

Absolutely ridiculous Florida continues to get kids to campus like this. There's clearly something going on there, it's not all coincidence they keep getting drafted Top 10 rounders to come to UF.

Well they’re losing Mathew Allan to the Mets.

He was considered a first round talent and fell to the 3rd round due to signability concerns so that’s a win for us at least

The Mets spent a combined 62k in rounds 4-10

By my calcs they have 2.11 million to offer Allan.
