I'm not expecting any HS to have sports this fall. An abundance of 3star recruits that put in the work to go out and prove themselves will be sleepers this cycle.

I must have read the article incorrectly, I thought it was the LHSAA that said no football unless we get to Phase4. My guess is they have Lawyers who told them given current legal environment and laws on the books, to much legal exposure.

This has nothing to do with the State Government. I just heard a State Senator on Ott's new show talking about this. He said after the LHSAA made their announcement, he got more calls to his office from more folks from all walks of life than over this issue than any other.

From what I got, this State Senator suggested passing a bill that grants the HS legal protection and by requiring all parents who want to their children to play to sign a legal waiver statement forfeiting any right to sue the School board, etc if their child gets COVID. If parents don't sign the waiver, that means their kids will not be allowed to play.

So based what this State Senator from Monroe told Ott on his show just about 1 hour ago, this is not coming from the State Govt. but the LHSAA directly, probably via their legal counsel.

Things look like they could get interesting. This would be a nice way to use that 25th spot :D

Maason Smith on the 2020 High School Season most likely being cancelled

I think it was in the first hour of the show, it is when the State Senator from Monroe is on talking about the Fantasy league betting bill, etc on the ballot this fall and Ott, to his credit, asked the Senator about HS football and what is going on and what can be done to allow them to play. Like I said, what I posted earlier was my take on it, but everyone interested in HS football should listen to the podcast and of course form their own opinion. After all, that is the American Way

Driving by this morning, saw Jacoby's HS team having a camp/practice here in Dullsville. Whether it was a camp or a practice, it was definitely organized. Good sign, I guess. At least they seem to be trying here in TN.

Virginia announced no high school football today. No big deal because people up here don't care about it

You are all wrong. We were well on our way until most of the people in this state chose to ignore all good sense, not wear masks, party, and generally spread Covid-19 to all areas of the state.
I know many of the idiots on this board refuse to believe reality, but I know people who are working in the hospitals and this is not a joke. They are exhausted from working 16 hour days while you whine about wearing a mask. Meanwhile, the hospitals are filling up with all those "fictitious" patients.
We can still have football if you will just reduce the load on the hospitals. That is the real risk to the season. The Gov has said many times it is not the number of raw cases, but the beds and ventilators that are the determining factors.
