Looks like an LSU-OU dogfight for 3 elite OLPosted by dwright369 on 11/10/20 at 10:50 am

Maybe I'm off (or it doesn't turnout this way), but a head-to-head dogfight for three (3) top-100 offensive lineman looks like a very real possibility leading up to ESD.
From what I gather, LSU-OU both have legitimate shots at landing the following OL:
1. Tristan Leigh (OT),
2. Savion Byrd (OT), and
3. Bryce Foster (OG).
Seemingly every LSU fan is acutely aware of the team's need for talented OL (particularly patrons of this board), but a glance at Oklahoma's 2021 class similarly reflects just one OL commitment. As such, I'd bet the Sooner-faithful view these prospects just as we do - ESSENTIAL pieces of their 2021 class that MUST be locked in to address a significant team need!
Of course, it's possible for this potential head-to-head matchup to get diluted as other suitors are real very much in play(ATM & Oregon for B. Foster - SMU for Byrd). However, I am hoping a path is cleared for an LSU-OU showdown and that 'O' & Co. demolish Boomer Sooner on the trail in a manner equally as dominate as took place in last year's Peach Bowl.
P.S., if we somehow landed all three of the aforementioned OL (Leigh, Byrd & Foster), I firmly believe LSU would have the best OL haul in the country.

There’s no chance we get foster I’ll eat crow if I’m wrong but I don’t think there’s a chance I do think LSU and ou are top 2 for Byrd and Leigh tho

We need Leigh and Byrd more than any other recruit left on our board, Yes even Smith and Foreman, we need to start winning the OLine trenches

Our message to these guys needs to be level of competition and that when we make it to the big show we deliver.

Foster is by No means decided, he is still very obtainable, Byrd not so much. Leigh, unless trolling us, or really second guessing is ours. We also have someone wanting to flip to us, depends on how it All unfolds, NOBODY can totally be sure with whom we will get, but we WILL sign 2 and preferably 3 more Very talented lineman, I cannot report right now whom the flip could be at present time, sorry, don’t ask.

I would t mind all three.
Someone will transfer leaving us with about 10 players for 5 positions.
Dare seems to not care.
Evan’s is a project.
We need three.

According to rivals article yesterday by Sam Spiegelman, Foster Is quoted as having LSU in final five and stating that Coach Joe and Craig been making hard push recently.
Most interesting from that article, Foster tells how he first met Coach Joe when he was in fourth grade at an LSU camp. Known each other for a long time and have a good relationship.
All that said, he is a Texas A&M legacy and there has been legitimate smoke around Oklahoma so who knows how it will end

I agree with you on Foster. But I am not as negative as you on Byrd. The one thing with him is Nuss continuing to recruit him as best he can. It may not work in the end but it has at least been affective to the point where bird has stated he’s not going to pull the trigger anytime soon (which is good for us).
If we could somehow get him and his parents to come visit Baton Rouge eye thank we have a legitimate shot but who knows if that will transpire.

there is one team currently with the #1 and #2 OT committed. The #1 center too. The #2 OG on top of that. Plus another committed lineman that could play on either side of the ball. Even if LSU gets the three you mentioned don't think it would be considered better. It would probably be LSU's best ever Oline class.

I just couldn't bring myself to actually name them. Another Olineman the tigers are in on is Eric Cade from Texas.

You’re probably right. My lease evaluation and comparison it was based on average composite rank per player.
The Brockmire twin that is the center actually is ranked pretty low (like 250 range or so) when not considering position so that brings Bama score down on a per player basis

Sorry, The Brockmire twin that is a center is has composite ranking of 184

If we did end up with all four of those guys, our offense of line hall would be damn close to Bama. Maybe not quite as good because slightly less versatility but from A raw talent and projection standpoint it would be very comparable IMO
