Linemen (or other positions) in the transfer portal...

do you think that LSU would have any interest? Seems there will be spots available especially for those that would be eligible immediately

Kinda vague. Got any names to consider?

If we lose certain positions early to the draft, we absolutely should use the portal.
I.e. center, olb, mlb

4 years > 2 years unless you have no depth and attrition. Do any positions on our team sound like that?? Could use or two guys at a couple positions but I don’t we will get a transfer unless it’s quarterback

C: I don't see any worth saving or using a spot for. Even if Cush declares (65 no/35 yes), Hines is well on his way which means we have to start working on his backup... and that's not a transfer.
OT: There's a couple worth considering. Kellen Diesch (sp?)(TAMU), Bryce Mathews (OM, coaching change), Jasper Frills (Cal). The only one that stood out to me has already made his move and that's Calvin Ashley (to FL A&M). Diesch moves pretty well, but he just simply isn't strong enough which doesn't fit well with transferring. That can be fixed, but I'm not sure we want to go there.
OG: The list of high-risk but high-reward guys is pretty big right now. Not sure what is up with Cleveland Reed, he seemed pretty good but is just flat at Miami. No one stands out here either. If we needed one, which we don't for sure IF Ingram gets his lost year back from NCAA, might be able to find one that works for us. If I had to pick one... Breyon Gaddy (Terps).
In regards to RB if it comes to not using a spot in the 25 and grabbing one worth noting Tavion Thomas (Cincy) is out there. He would have to sit a year though.
ETA: had to go double check... if we need an OT, Rocky Aitogi (JUCO) is the guy we want to go for (JUCO). Needs to improve mobility/agility, but it's not terrible and can be improved. Massive and very strong. He can play OG or OT which that versatility is something you would want in a JUCO pick up. OM and AR are looking at (offered too?) him hard.

I would think we'd be in the market for a grad Transfer Center or guard especially if Cushenberry leaves early. Ohio state did well with that guard from MAryland.

The only place I would really look to the transfer portal is an edge rusher, and even then it would have to be a grad transfer like the Greenard kid Florida picked up from Louisville this year. We'll want somebody who can give us what K'Lavon has.
Anybody less than that, I'd pass. Your roster is so good you're almost at the point where you're trying to minimize attrition among kids who just need a chance to play.

Apparently this guy transferred and enrolled on Dec.17
Looks like he walked on here in 2016. I'm sure he’s a fine kid, but this may be for other reasons than football.

I don’t think it would hurt LSU to pick up a DE. Rusher, LB or safety if and only if he’s a quality pick up. I think we’re good at OL, QB, RB, WR, TE or entire offense. It’s our defense that may need some help. We won’t really know until after fall camp imo.
We’ve added some guys so hopefully those guys can help and not too many juniors leave. Same goes for our OL. Even though they’ve improved and won the awards, it was as a unit and not individual play that made them what they are. I’m hoping that most of our juniors come back and take note from the guys that came back this year. If anything they’ve matured while experiencing this great season and that alone could improve their spots and longevity in the game.

Justin Shorter
Isaiah Chambers
These are the only 2 that interest me. I don’t know anything about Chambers but he was ranked high and plays a relevant position for our scheme and needs

A solid summary.
Does anyone know when a decision will be made on if Ingram gets that year of eligibility back?

Anybody know anything about him? Looks like he has played at eight guard and center?

Why some people keeping talking about a qb on the transfer portal. We don't have a need there. We have a very capable qb returning much stronger and sure should have learned a lot the last 2 years. Only thing maybe would be an experienced backup instead of Peter Parrish.

If you have a potential superstar QB in the portal and he wants in, you take him.
Injuries do occur.
