I think Southern is hosting a camp that LSU will attend. LSU’s elite camp is next weekend.

Will LSU extend invites to kids this week for the elite camp next week? Or are those already done?

My son attended the OL/DL camp the first Saturday in June and will go back this Saturday.

Were any notable players at the camp with him? What HS does he play for? Does your son have a shot at a scholarship somewhere? None of my boys really got into sports like I did. They followed my love for playing guitar but not my love for sports and LSU.

I'm carrying Bert Hale from Oak Grove. LSU called and asked if he would come.

He’s a rising junior OL at Mandeville, 6-8, 335. There were elite DL guys at the last camp, and the kid from Ehret got an offer that day.

LINK

My son didn’t play football until junior high, where he was out of position for two years. Lecompte resigned right as his freshman year started, so that was a year lost for development IMO. Gonzales had half a staff for his sophomore season. He started at RT against Live Oak but played mostly on ST.

So we really don’t know his potential yet.

He’ll be at the LSU camp Saturday, and next week the whole MHS unit will go to the Nicholls lineman camp.

Man if he's willing to put in the work (he's going to camps so obviously he is) keep developing, and lose any excess weight so he can be light on his feet, he has some potential. Good luck to you and your son!

GREEN. Someone said to lose weight? Forget that, that kid could develop into his frame and be a real monster. Good luck man. Geaux Tigers
