With just about all the louisiana WRs getting offered now, any chance we offer Coleman? Could this end up as a CD Lamb or Travis Etienne scenario where LSU let’s a really talented player kill it at another school.

There are only so many spots. On one hand a group of people bitch because we have too many spots used at wr and another thinks we should take 25 a year.
If we keep Smith, Earle and Hilton there's only 1 spot left maybe 2 if we miss elsewhere or a guy is just too good. We've got OL, DL and DB spots to fill. Coleman will have to blow up on film. Too many kids competing for 1-2 spots and Bech likely gets 1 of them.

Just because you can only take 4 receivers, that doesn’t mean there aren’t 7-8 top notch ones.

Better problem to have than having no options.

LSU only has 8 scholarship WR’s at this time. This is a low # for those that don’t understand roster management and without even looking at the other SEC rosters likely lowest in the league.

Since I’ve followed LSU recruiting having only 9 (with Chase) to start the season was still the lowest # at that position.

Marshall is for sure gone. The unknown at this point is whether a kid like Kirklin or maybe even McMath would elect to stay for another SR year. If they both leave then you only have 5...frigging 5 returning scholarship WR’s on your roster going into the spring.

So yeah, signing 4 is a must unless at least one of Kirklin or McMath come back. And even that is a little light.

I've been saying this.

We Need 4 ballers to replenish this year
Devonta Lee going back to wide receiver will help depth.
Who is your #1 going forward?

Boutte probably but who else after him. I'm being dramatic but isnt it nice having 3 studs at wideout in chase Marshall and jefferson

Boutte, Moore, Palmer all look solid. We will likely only lose Marshall to the draft. We may lose 1 or 2 guys to Transfer. McMath, Jenkins and a Kirklin could all stay due to Covid eligibility.

CD Lamb was born in Louisiana but grew up in Texas. He does not belong in your “ Louisiana players who got away” list.

Devonta Lee is back at receiver.

Gilbert is a hybrid TE / WR

If it was a true emergency issue Stingley could actually spot up at WR.

Palmer looks solid?

They need to use him or reverses and screens

Koy moore will be good in the slot but I'm talking about marshall level players.

Nah, a 4 WR class in 2021 is a necessity. We are currently razor thin at WR--we've got multiple true freshmen pass-catchers getting significant snaps--and that's even WITH an all-the-way-legit stud in marshall carrying a massive load. Think about it this way: Do we have a single guy we can definitely count on to be a stud going into next season? I like boutte and moore but as of now the answer to that question is no. And even if/when boutte/moore come into their own, that's still only 2 guys! We absolutely MUST have a deep class of possible studs behind them to pick up whatever slack is left in the season when they're the go-to guys and then make sure that we don't go into the following season (post-boutte/moore) with no proven studs the way we will be going into next season.

We are seeing the importance of elite WR play skyrocket. We saw what it did for us last year and it's easy to see what it's doing for bama this year. Things are trending towards a situation where you want to have both of the following entering every season: 1) a proven guy that you can count on to be elite, AND 2) a good group of talented non-freshmen from whom you can count on solid production at the 2 and 3 spots. We really don't have either of those things entering 2021. Looking ahead to 2022, i think we'll hopefully be able to count on Boutte/Moore to supply us the proven stud, but given that the 2019 WR class hasn't shown much, we absolutely need a deep 2021 class to hopefully fill out those secondary roles. Bringing in 3 guys in 2021 is the absolute bare minimum that we can get without making me legitimately worried. 4 is where i start to feel a little bit comfortable. I would even be okay with going up to 5 tbh.

I just don't think people understand. He is not coming unless will Wade gets involved. He's made that clear from the jump. He's playing basketball.

Look at the Michigan state offer on 247. It shows the football recruiter as his primary recruiter and tom izzo as the secondary recruiter.
