Yeah I was told weeks ago Leigh was 100% LSU. Unless something has changed since then?

You are insane if you think he’s 100% in on any school at this point. He’s appears to have solid family support, but he’s an impressionable 17 year old kid. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him end up at any of tOSU, OU, or LSU.

This is the home stretch before the signing periods. The "Insiders" will peddle any high ranked kid to every fanbase around because this is the Black Friday season for recruiting experts. They will be running every bait story they can to get views and clicks.

I dont know where Leigh or any of these others are going to sign and neither does anyone else... So I will tune in ESD evening to see what we got.

re: Jardin Gilbert CB
Are you serious or joking?

I'm sure Leigh's mom has looked into schools in louisiana

Now I wonder if looking into turned into enrolling.

I have always said leigh will be a tiger

Well, considering there hasn’t been a Bishop Sullivan in Baton Rouge for 15 years.

There’s no Runnels either.

Tell you what.....

If want to seal the deal with Tristan, the LA chapter of the National MS (multiple sclerosis) foundation needs to contact his mom (Laura) and let her know they are there for support.

In addition, they aren't rich. Having MS and finding a new job is, well, not easy.

Couldn't hurt to get his sister on scholarship (non-athletic) some way some how too.

He didn't make the tOSU trip because he's 100% LSU.. he didn't make that trip because his Mom was having too much health problems.

His Moms will have to be close to him, his brother (younger) and his sister (in college elsewhere). Missing that trip calls into question of whether or not they can handle 3 or 4 years split up. In fact, they know they can't. But at same time making a move to stay together is almost as difficulty between financial difficulties and the MS.

So the path is clear.....

ETA:
oh, and on the thread subject- Jardin Gilbert... if we had room I'd love to have him. He's one of those that his offer list and his ranking don't quite match. He's very fluid and is a WR in a DBs body when it comes to going for the ball. Not the fastest ever in straight line speed but he changes direction and body position with no loss of speed (invaluable). If he can develop a Div-I body to go with his length, he'll likely be a good one. Probably FSU (where his heart is), maybe OU, outside chance for Southern if he wants to stay home.

Our OL has been terrible since we hired Orgeron's BBQ buddy from his days at USC. We got away with it last year because of a transcendent QB.

Three of the four OL that went to the NFL earned starting roles this year as rookies. I agree that Burrow made the whole unit look better, but I don’t think it’s fair to say that his greatness masked some huge deficiency on the OL.

'member when we went through a multi-year drought with no OL drafted with a former OL as head coach?

I 'member.

And I think Studwra is an excellent OL coach. Yes, I did say (and mean) excellent. Trying to be a fill in OC (which he was absolutely not ready for) and having a HC that always overruled him on recruiting priorities ruined him at LSU.

So if Studwra is excellent... what is Cregg? He's doing an excellent job too. If he reels in what we think we're going to finish out with this OL coach that seals it for me. He's still got work to do; OL can be much better. But it's trending very well and we're NOT talking baby steps either.

Ironically, turns out (or appears so) that Grimes is a much better OC than OL coach. I'd say he's an average OL coach. Was at AU, was at LSU.

Coach O needs to recruit some Jr and Sr to come back next year. Seniors in particular since they don't count against the 85

He's a solid 4* .93 by 247, but must be rated pretty low by the other services because he's a composite 3*.

It's certainly going to be interesting to see how the final spots in the class fill.

I do believe that has become somewhat of a TD myth.

The 85 limit isn't changing. And it applies to total scholarships regardless of classification.

The Srs. do not have this count against their own eligibility. Just like the freshmen, soph, and Jrs. Everyone comes out of HS with 5 to play 4. This year doesn't subtract from that 5... or the 4.

But if enrolled and on scholarship they count against the 85 regardless if year 1 or year 5.

Title IX has scholarship requirements between the genders. IF that myth were true, we would have to add some womens sports/scholarships or remove some men from scholarships because Title IX doesn't give a shite about NCAA caps.

re: Jardin Gilbert CB

what is Cregg? He's doing an excellent job too

Dude we are hurting *badly* for OL. We are paper thin entering next year and have 1 single solitary OL locked into our 2021 class. Signing 1 OL is absolutely disastrous roster mismanagement. If we do indeed pull Leigh, then we can grade this year's OL haul as acceptable, but even with him it doesn't grade out as a positive. If we miss, we better have some tricks up our sleeve or we are going to have scary issues there going forward.

All this sounds super doom-and-gloom but i don't even mean it in that way--there's a good chance that we wind up fine on OL going forward--but to say definitively that Cregg is doing an "excellent" job when we have a potential disaster around the corner is crazy. At best, Cregg has been adequate. He's seemingly developed well but we are severely lacking in terms of OL recruiting depth. That's not even up for debate.
