None of them can do what Arik can do.

I thought he'd be processed.

LSU needs TE/H-Backs, LSU now runs as its base offense 11 personnel. Gilbert is gone, Carter is a senior, etc. So need a TE. Some Sites have the TE from ASH as a top 15-20 player in the state but seems more of an In-line TE only which maybe is why LSU did not offer. Stanford is where I think he is going.

Don't be shocked if Arik returns. Maybe, he'd be happier lining up at WR.

Well it seems that many in our fanbase think he's replaceable.

shead is going to be a force in the blocking aspect of his game. from his bio:

“In first year at tight end at Olive Branch, blocked for a pair of running backs that combined for nearly 2,500 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns”

olive branch, his high school, has always been run first and he’s very dependable in blocking assignments

Well if he does, great, welcome him back. But I still think LSU needed to sign a TE. I think in LSU's immediate footprint, there was a 3-star from MS (Snead) and Taylor from in state (ASH) is a 3-star at 247. LSU took Snead as their TE.

I wasn't suggesting that we don't sign a good TE.

I was just saying that I think there is more to the Arik story that fans don't know about. If we have several solid TEs, then he could play WR if really doesn't want to block much.

All may be true about Gilbert, but as of now he is not at LSU. So not going to invest time into wondering if he is coming back or not. If he does, great, welcome him back. He doesn't then wish him well with his future.

Unless one of these TE's is 6'7" 250, runs like a WR and catches everything and then runs away from people, we will miss him.

Not disputing his talent, that is obvious. Again, he is not currently on the LSU roster. It can be simultaneously true that he is an elite talent and I am not get negative waves about him not on LSU's roster.
