My son goes to Walker. Just told me Jalen has now broken 1000 points as a sophomore. Not sure if that is a big deal.

Walker is playing Landry-Walker for the 5A state title right now

Kid is a sick WR, too.

I actually think Cook has a brighter future in football than basketball. He already has a West Virginia offer for football and he he has a frame that looks like he won't grow much more but he already has pretty good bulk.

Jalen's future is bright. I believe Houston has already offered him in basketball'

After this tourney, add Brian Thomas to the list of being looked at and possibly offered.

Walker has had a couple teams make the final four in the state playoffs and finally reached the championship and won. Robin Fambrough mentioned the '62 team, but the 56/57 team also reached the semis before losing. My dad, Larry Wascom, played on the 56/57 team and was a first team all-state selection. Walker has had some good basketball teams and players. A few went on to play in college. In the late 80's, Brian Thomas comes to mind. I think he played at USL (Louisiana Lafayette now) Also on the same team Thomas played on was Trey Fortenberry who went on to play at LC (Louisiana Baptist College) There's been a few others just can't think of them off the top of my head. Others were good enough but for one reason or another never played at that level. Congrats to my Alma Mater, Walker High School from Walker Louisiana for winning the 2018 Class 5a boys basketball state championship. Go Wildcats!!!

I was lucky enough to see Jalen and Brian's dads play ball when I was a Freshman at Walker. Their kids are unbelievable. They both have bright future's ahead of them and I look forward to seeing where their story takes them.

On a side note my Godson is on the team that won state last night and I couldn't be more happy for him and the rest of them. Lots of hard work to get there and a no quit attitude to come back and win in phenomenal fashion.

Is Jalen Cook's dad Eric? I don't know him personally, but he went to school with my ex wife. I graduated from Walker a few years before, 1982. I use to play a lot of backyard ball with some of the guys on those teams Eric and Brian played on. Never played Brian. Played a little 2 on 2 game with Eric once, this was several years after his high school days. I wanted to watch the game but couldn't find it on TV or internet anywhere. Do you know where I can find it and watch?

Yes. Eric is the dad of Jalen and Josh.

Josh is a senior. He just signed to play football for Southeastern

Since the playoffs are over, I am sure Cox cable will be replaying all games on TV.

Yeah, BT is Brians Dad and Eric is Jalen and Josh's dad. I played on the Freshman team and that Senior class was fricking ridiculous with talent.

Furthermore, Eric was a stud in Basketball and Track. Played football as well but I dint really get to see him play.

It is clear that the kids will surpass their dads which is amazing to see. I am sure that makes both of them very happy.

Just updating the status of boys from Walker. Thomas just got an offer from Texas A&M.

C'mon tigers, they need some love!

That game was amazing!!!!! Those players played with intensity and never gave up. That defense at the end of regulation was something special to see. Brian Thomas had ice water running through his veins. I didn't get to see his dad play in high school, but I played backyard ball with some guys on those teams and I heard how good he was. I think jr. is a little taller than sr. He is going to be a very good ball player for Walker. That entire Thomas family was very good athletes, Edgar Lee, Bruce and they had an older brother I can't remember his name, but he played basketball, football and track. I think Brian and his dad are related to that Thomas family. I could be wrong.
