It also looks like we're back on Tyreek Smith...
...per his Twitter.

As of April 5.

Smith was an A&M signee but got his release when Kennedy was fired and he's back on the market. He's skinny at 6-8 and 205 and might be more of a developmental player than that true replacement for Kavell that we need, but he's probably a take if you've got three scholarships available and you don't get Quinones with one of them (or if you miss on Watford).

Looks like we have got some CBs for him recently. That's a name i haven't heard so far. Good to know we have some back up plans in place.

We were on him in the fall and a lot of people expected he would be in the class, but then we started getting good vibes on Watford and fell off Smith. Then he committed to A&M in September.

But with losing Reid to the NBA you would think there might be space for this guy if we're looking for a developmental big man (which we should be).

Whatever happened to that dude that signed with VCU and when Wade came to LSU, he came here. Then he was kicked off the team for some reason?

A poster on here said Sy was all Ole Miss. I like Tyreek and have liked him for a while. Has a Tyrus Thomas type game. I liked Sy too, he was more of an inside player that Smith. Listening to sports talk radio today (I'm not sure who the host are, Jimmy Ott maybe) one was very confident, according to his sources at LSU, If LSU is going to miss on Sy, I think Tyreek is a very good replacement. Really wish LSU was still interested in Avery Anderson, I think that dude really wanted to play at LSU.

We do need a big who's got some physicality to him though. Watford is a good replacement for Naz, but that doesn't get us a replacement for Kavell. And without one we're going to have a hole.

I'd go for Watford and try to get a senior or JUCO transfer big with the 2nd scholarship. Then if we don't get Quinones I'd go get Smith, or maybe take him with the 4th scholarship and let Graves be a walkon next year.

Tyreek Smith is gonna be good baws, he’s a legit player. I wouldn’t mind grabbing him at all. If we were able to land Watford, Smith, and then use the last scholarship to get a JUCO guy, or Grad transfer that would be great. Basically we would be able to replace everyone we lost except Waters, but Smart is a great PG, and James Bishop is very underrated. Not to mention we could land Jalen Cook in a year.

Smart replaces Waters. He won't be the same, but he'll be an elite point guard nonetheless.

And Manning will replace Smart. Don't sleep on that kid; he's legit. He's a huge get.

I remember being after Tyreek last year.

But I agree Scott...gotta have a physically mature big. Ideally 6-8 or taller with some bulk/strength.

KBW was a huge piece to LSU’s gaudy record this year.

I guarantee Wade will pull a transfer from somewhere that’ll totally be out of the blue

I'd take a look at Rik Smits' kid. He's leaving Valpo as a grad transfer and he's 7-1.

He might not quite fit with the pace we'll want to play for most of next year, because that roster looks like it's well-suited for a 40 minutes-of-hell type game, but he doesn't have to be on the court when we're doing that.

Smits is also in the draft but likely just testing the waters. Would be a huge get. He could be the best grad transfer out there.

Averaged around 12/6/1. Not bad numbers and he’s huge.

So far I don't really see anybody who's immediately eligible with the kind of size and ability around the rim we're looking for.

T.J. Holyfield would be somebody who could fit that bill, but it looks like he's headed to Illinois to join Underwood there.

Interestingly, Javan White is back on the market. He was the kid from Oral Roberts we were looking at last year before we took Courtese Cooper, and he went to Clemson instead. But he barely played there. I don't know that he's quite SEC caliber.

Watford, Smith and Smits would be a great haul of bigs.

I would really like us to get one more 2/3 type player.
