Is LSU behind on the NIL situation and is that hurting them this cycle?

It seemed like we were ahead of the game at first, but I’m not sure we haven’t fallen behind, much less stayed on the forefront. Apparently that’s why Areli Ricks left—he got no NIL money. Or is it simply Scott had to go the booster well so hard this particular year for the buyouts and the new staff salaries, that a lot of the money that will eventually be allocated for NIL wasn’t there this year, but will course correct moving forward.

Seriously, what do you think is hurting LSU most?

The buyouts and hires depleted the funds. Hopefully Biden will give us some bail out money.

Money and only money. Nothing more, nothing less. We aren't paying enough.

We’re definitely behind but, we’ll be back. I just don’t see how Woodward could fall behind so many SEC West rivals

This is an absolute ridiculous take. There is no NIL money coming from TAF. The money they spent on buyouts can't be used to pay players. Why is it that so many people on this board can't grasp this concept?

Recruiting will take a hit because:

1 - Orgeron was absolutely running this program into the ground. He was doing nothing well, both on and off the field.

2 - we have an entirely new coaching staff. Recruits had relationships with coaches who are no longer here.

I think Kelly is doing a tremendous job of holding this class together for the most part. He will fill in what he needs with transfers.

Guys get deals at lsu . This was the first year of nil so I’d expect more this year, but guys have gotten deals. Brennan got a truck. Boutte ,doughty, and travinski made a lot of money this past weekend with a memorabilia company. Stingley got a lot of money from an airline company.the gymnast Olivia dunne has become a millionaire because of nil at lsu but I think hers is more from her own doing

Disagree

O's last 2 seasons & CC are the biggest.

I still think LSU fans will be pleasantly surprised how good this class will end up being with Feb and Portal adds still to come.

Obviously this year it’s the coaching change—this was always gonna hurt this class. I’m just wondering how much NIL may be playing a part. But more importantly, I’m wondering if we’re positioned to take advantage of it moving forward after everything settles down.

No

Man, LSU fans getting thrown NIL & transfer portal in back to back years is going to be terrible & confusing for this board.

Bro that has absolutely nothing to do with nil . Nil is just using players as advertisement for companies. Lol the taf can’t pay players

LSU is way behind the Texas schools

LSU needs to approach some of these local businesses and do it quickly

Yes--very much so.

It's certainly not the main thing hurting us this cycle--that's the general upheaval with the coaching staff. We'll need to get it sorted out, though, in time for the 2023 cycle if we want to compete with the big boys. A&M is very clearly lapping the field in NIL bag dropping.

Lsu is too big to fail. Jon Bel Edward's is tight with Biden. We will get big cash next year from build back better infrastructure.

They have. They’ve went to every area business I’m sure, some bit and those were the deals we’ve seen . Others don’t want to advertise in that way or don’t see the value and haven’t. I promise you, all the area businesses are aware that they can use the lsu athletes as advertisement for a price

It’s way more coaching changes than NIL.

I swear our fans would be the absolute worst in foxholes.

Honestly, I kinda wonder if this isn’t more bullshite from compliance like the testing for weed. They seem to think it’s their job to find anything wrong with LSU Athletics, so they might be squashing anything not 110% by the book or that is potentially questionable.
