Last game had 10 tackles, 2 sacks, forced fumble and a safety.
Has only played in 6 games this year and has:
9 sacks, 46 tackles, 1 safety and 4 forced fumbles.

Not sure what level of competition haynesville plays out of district, but with his size he should have stats like that in 1A

He is definitely underrated, but Haynesville is a 1A school in North Louisiana, so the competition is not exactly top notch -- although they have played 3A North Webster and 4A Minden this season (both losses).
ETA and they are playing Calvary in a couple of weeks.

Haynesville is having a down year from people I've talked to, but they produce good players for 1A. Joseph Evans will be a very good player for us and will probably get more PT in 2020.

I’ve watched him the past few years and in my opinion he’s a project. He’s a massive kid, but to me it seems like he still hasn’t grown into his body. He’s built like an OT with real long limbs, but I don’t think he has the feet for it. I think it will take him at least 3 years in a college weight program before he’s ready to contribute.

Man, I don't like cutting Louisiana guys loose... But if more elites keep wanting in, gotta figure he is one of the ones that LSU helps find a place elsewhere

Not sure but he is not a DE. They have changed him to DT on 247. I keep reading on the Rant that he is a OT by the time he gets to LSU

Offensive linemen should not play as freshman anyway. They should almost always sit a year or two, learn and lift.

He would have to be a OT at the next level I would think. But he looks like a project not only due to the position change but it looks like from watching his high school highlights video also in the physical development, speed, footwork, coordination, areas as well. He does have the frame for a OT however. With a few years in the strength and conditioning program he might turn out to be a very good one. The staff must see it in him that they offered and took the commitment.

Watched him play against Minden. It was like a 30 point defeat. He is a tall kid with a good frame but really lean. Not much fat on him. He was very quick on defense and made tackles down the field when we ran away from him. Did not pay attention to him when he was on offense.
His best attributes are his size and speed. Oh and he hustles 100 percent till the whistle blows. I think with a year of bulking up he can be a contributor at LSU. And the following year have a real impact.

Dude... we can’t afford to drop ANY OL commits at this point. And certainly not one that is a HS teammate of our top OL target.

I know that. Me saying I don’t want to drop cam is a emotional thing lol. Dude has a personality and has been committed to us for a while now, but I understand at the end of the day this is a business

But seriously - if Burch comes I think we have to let Gaye go. The Fonua experiment doesn’t seem like it will work out (yes I know he’s been out). I think we need to invest in freshman rather then juco recruits

I'm starting to believe it cause I've been hearing all season that he has been tearing it up. As the only thing that may be hurting him is the level of play in his division.
Not to mention, that Joe Evans, his cousin and from the same school, also came into LSU underrated.
