Which will probably be the most complete class we’ve had in a while. Will that make some negaO’s come around or he could win a national championship and you’re still a negaO

Only if he beefs up the lines seriously, especially the O line. Need some depth on the defensive front 7 but it seems that it’s beibg addressed. Need some depth and talent at WR and RB too. I’d love to see a power spread game at LSU.

Pretty rhetorical question. O is never going to win a popularity contest on this board, doesn't matter what he does.

I just want to win and compete for NC's, don't give a dam who the HC is.

Hopefully, he will fill his trawl with quality players and not just some roster fillers. Top 10 class with our haul last year would be a great start to being in the mix at the end of next year.

All coaches have their strengths and weaknesses. Orgeron has generally been thought of has being strong on recruiting, short on x’s and o’s.

Miles for me was much the same, a strong recruiter but not a great field strategist. Miles regularly delivered strong classes and sent lots of players to the pros.

So I would say we should expect Orgeron to deliver a strong class, it’s what his coaching reputation is based on.

I am not anti Orgeron, but he wouldn’t have been my choice. Him bringing in a strong class for me would affirm recruiting remains his strong suit. It wouldn’t answer the questions I have about his ability to actually coach and be a strong gameday playcaller.

I have hopes he can do those things or effectively delegate those things. I was disappointed to learn he interfered with his offensive coordinator during the Troy game because I don’t think Orgeron has the coaching background to take over an offense.

He better always have a top 10 classes. I can’t think of any other reason he was given the job. I guess Alleva being incredibly incompetent is a reason too.

orgeron also seems much more open minded (less stubborn) about change. too early to tell but miles got canned for the same reasons dinardo did. hire a shite coordinator and defend him to the "death". I believe orgeron will play the best at each position and seems to have some damn good game plans. now, it's up to the players to execute those plans. also, you can't even compare clock management; coach O is far superior. he knows what he's doing on the sideline where it seems that miles did not always. I think if coach O can recruit as good as miles but meeting needs, we will be back.

Excellent point, but who really cares about the Nega O's? All they're interested in is being right....

How about baby steps first? Like not losing to a Sunbelt team on Homecoming?

Livingston on board - add Surtain, Marshall, Rogers, Joseph, Chase and Joiner. 26 and done!

Don't expect any compliments from those LSU "fans" who want Orgeron to fail. Even if Orgeron delivers another top 10 class this year, the Orgeron haters will reference the Troy game of 2017 or the Florida game of 2016 or project the failure of the 2018 season. Nothing will stop the hate short of a national championship and I'm not sure that will stop it.

The “ hate” is because some of do not think he can get us back to championship contention. If he finishes with a strong class that’s a good thing but he has to prove he can beat more than 1 good team a year.

ETA to get a top 5 class you do need some 4-5*

So we won’t sign any 4-5 stars? I’ll hang up and listen.

first of all, La talent is down this year. also, we still have 5 or more slots left and that's where you add the top guys a lot as they hold off till the end. lastly, this class is filled with guys recruited for the needs of the team and this often precludes this "magic" team recruiting rating. I really think miles got complacent and recruited for star rating over needs.

this is the reason why some LSU fans are so hateful toward O. while some of these haters have a point (his ole miss record) they seem to overlook that people actually do improve by learning from their mistakes and he did a fine job as interim for two different major programs. there also are those that harbor a definite bias against Cajuns; I have run into many people in this category my whole life, in both south and north Louisiana (mostly north) and in texas.

regardless of reasons for hate, one would think that intelligent fair minded people, esp fans, would give the man a chance to prove his value to our program. I have seen many posters that have already done this and I applaud that. I believe myself to be in that category as I wanted Fisher real bad and was shocked when O was hired. I now feel that the man has a very good chance at keeping our program at a very high level, like Miles, with an periodical chance for a title (SEC). but the jury is still out.

making fun of our HC and nitpicking minor issues over and over and over again DOES NOT HELP LSU and actually hurts us in recruiting. thankfully, most recruits families are more mature and understand that message boards are filled with immature, nonknowledgable posters, some of which are alters loyal to competitive programs.
