I think a major factor in our struggles on defense so far this tear is lack of personnel suited to the 4-3. - namely a stud Mike backer and DE’s in the 6’4 250-260 range who can rush the QB AND hold the edge in the run game. It will get better, but will take a year or two. Coach O knows all this and will fix it.

I want all three bad. Would be the best haul that I can ever remember. Dellinger is the lowest rated lineman of the three but his is the highest rated lineman since 2011!!! Like common people need to chill dellinger is a damn stud and not an afterthought. We get dellinger and one of the 2 between Leigh and byrd OMG!! Then get another under rated devolopmental dude that's still the best class since what? 2007? Or something... If we pull dellinger byrd and Leigh holy shite this would be our most epic OT/OL haul I have witnessed since 2001 whitworth niswanger and ben wilkerson... Then you add in potential on the DL with foreman Smith and Jackson lol yes please this would be the recruiting class putting lsu officially back on the map roster wise.

Listening to Mike S last night made me think we will have a few decommits coming just to make room for those lineman. I think we take as many of the top 6-8 guys we are going after and do some "processing" afterwards. Smith, Byrd, Leigh, Foreman, Wheaton, Green and BTJ would all be takes if they want to come to LSU. Sounds crazy but if all those pieces fall into place, our 2 most recent commits Bech and Langlois would likely be the first 2 to go. You wouldnt let Shead go. He'll be our best blocking TE on the team once he gets here. Jones is getting praised as if he's severely underrated. We gonna drop Hundley? I doubt it. Of course all of this is just talk right now because we could swing and miss on all of those names and need a few unknowns or transfers just to fill the class. Absolute craziness on the LSU recruiting trail right now.

Almost no contribution from our DTs either.

LB will be remedied soon. Raesjon Davis is obviously one of the best players in the class and Greg Penn is the most underrated commit we have right now that kid looks every bit of a 5 star LB in camps and on his tape.

Great. Now tell me what the staff can do in this particular class to do better than they have thus far, in particular with OT recruiting?
Top 2 guys nationally,Latham and Brockermeyer both had us in their top 3 when they decided on Bama. Both were recruited hard and well by the staff. Bama won. Ask OSU how they feel about losing Latham who was considered a heavy lean to them until a couple of weeks before committing. It's why they began the major push for Leigh. We've got Dellinger from MI of all places and he's ranked 11th. Still the favorite for Leigh who's a 5* and still top 3 and in striking distance of land the #10 kid in Byrd. On top of that in the top group for Foster who's the top OG and a 5* on Rivals.
What more can the staff do in this class? Of course they have to finish the job with a couple and sign them but continuously posting that they need to land more OL while insinuating they aren't making the effort to do so is bull shite. You do know these other schools fans are thinking the same as ours with the 3 uncommitted kids don't you? You have to recruit them until they commit or sign and that's what the staff is doing. I'd love to hear your suggestions as to how they do more than they are to add top OL to this class. My ears are open to suggestion as I'm sure the staffs are.
