I went from 90% Alabama to 65% alabama for Sopsher. Supposedly Coach O has cut the bullshite when it comes to recruiting the Amite guys.
I still would recommend not expecting Sopsher in the class, but you can't blame Coach O for this as he has put in serious work.

But the staff has plans, they are not as stupid as some of you believe. Their board has several prospects we have realistic shots at. Both on the OL and DL

Generally speaking, I would prioritize O-Line over D-Line. But where we stand in 2019, we already have a superb O-Line class committed.

So for this coming class, D-Line prospects are clearly much more desirable than O-Line. We need to get at least one, and a second guy would be a blessing as well. In fact, it is the only position remaining for 2019 that I worry about at all.

Absolutely. I get it that everyone has the warm and fuzzies over the Emery committ, and it was a huge one. But, once again, the theme this year has been that we’re getting beat in the trenches. Must reinforce the lines with a couple true tackles and D linemen.

Agree. I hate the what if game, but wonder how we would have fared this year with Ingram starting.

Some on this board think we should have given up, stopped recruiting Sopsher but O is doing major work in Amite. Will it payoff? No one knows but at some point we have got to change the attitude in that area.

With the current OLine commits we have, plus the returnees for next year, we may have 16 OLinemen on the roster next year -

C - Cushenberry - Jr
C - Smith - RFR or Soph
C - Turner - Recruit

OG - Lewis - SR
OG - Hines - Soph
OG - Thomas - Recruit
OG - Bradford - Recruit

OL - Savage - Jr
OL - Campbell - JR
OL - Magee

OT - Charles - Jr
OT - Deculous - Jr
OT - Traore - Sr
OT - Rosenthal - RFR
OT - Wire - RFR
OT - Perry - Recruit

That's 16. If We get Ed Ingram back, which is doubtful, that would be 17.

Ray Parker is likely a TE, but could definitely be an OLineman also.

Next year's line returns a lot of experience and with the infusion of the signees, there should be some competition and a much better line next year.

As far as the DLine goes, I don't see us losing much.

Maybe Lawrence or Fehoko goes to the draft.

Maybe someone down on the depth chart transfers out. Maybe Tyler Shelvin transfers. It's hard to say.... but we are ok there on numbers.

Parker is an OT. He probably redshirts.

Rosenthal and Wire after redshirting this year should push for starters roles next year.

My dream OL for next year would be:

LT - Rosenthal
LG - Hines
C - Cushenberry
RG - Deculus
RT - Charles

That gives us Lewis and Magee as experienced reserves.

The positive ripple effect of Rosenthal locking down LT would be huge. Deculus and Charles would be allowed to play the positions they are best fit to succeed

Completely agree with how Rosenthal develops. He is key to next years OL. I just don't see how Lewis is not the starter. What I honestly think will happen is he will test the NFL market and I believe he will grade out very well and will be gone. You're forgetting Thomas. He is almost a shoe in at RG. My OL for next year:

LT - Rosenthal
LG - Hines
C - Cushenberry
RG - Thomas
RT - Charles

Don’t forget about Traora. I know he wasn’t really effective this year, but hopefully the experience he got will help him develop and be a strong reserve next year.

My thoughts, too. What is O doing differently there now and how do we know it's working?
