Has LSU baseball shown any interest in Ben McDonald’s son Jase?
I know he’s a pitcher on the LSU-E staff, and they’re one of our big time feeders of talent from the JUCO ranks. He has a pitcher’s frame at 6’3” and 200+ lbs, and yea, the name on the back of his jersey carries a little bit of weight around the Box for obvious reasons.

Any chance he ends up in BR?

Perhaps... had TJ surgery last year. We’ll see what happens.

I didn’t realize he had had that surgery. That might actually end up being a good thing for him in the long run, another year to mature and the people I played with that had the surgery actually ended up coming back with better velocity.

LSUE is the most overrated juco out there. They do produce good talent though

They don’t play in D1 Juco division.

The NJCAA is not comparable to the NCAA. Only difference between D1 and D2 in JUCO is D1 can provide room and board, D2 cannot. LSUE plays a heavy D1 schedule, including 24 games against BRCC, Delgado and Nunez, all D1 schools. They also are the only LA school in Region 23 which includes all of the Miss. JUCO teams and is one of the toughest regions in all of JUCO baseball. I believe I saw a recent poll where LSUE is ranked 13th amongst all JUCO schools in the country.

Jase has a long friendship with Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco, who caught for his dad at LSU. If he gets to the point of being good enough to play D1, Oxford may be his destination.
He missed most of his senior year at Denham and redshirted last season at LSUE, so he hasn't truly pitched in three years. Best of luck to him.

That would be a good landing spot for him, wouldn’t blame him a bit.

LSU e has talent
They need to switch juco divisions for better competition to help evaluate their players
They still play delgado and other top programs from ms and tx

LSUE is hosting Highland CC and Jefferson this weekend. Both D1’s from Kansas and Missouri, respectively.

JeffCo is a good program. About an hour south of St. Louis, they pull some good talent.

Honestly, don’t think he’s good enough.

He has time to improve, however.

LSUE takes care of business with a 17-3 win over Jefferson County. Jerry Couch(Charleston Southern commit) with the win. Highland CC up next.

Nunez
I know Nunez pretty much has to play the teams Delgado does but when did they move up to NJCAA D1? Pretty sure they can’t provide room and board

Nunez, BRCC and Delgado make up Region 23 in D1. They are able to offer room and board but not sure whether they do or not.

Recent polls have LSUE in the top 5 of ALL JUCO's. They are talented, deep, and well coached.

They just run ruled two strong D1 JUCO's this past weekend.

Jase is every bit of 6'3", already sitting at 88-90mph with his FB and good command of all pitches. Any D1 school would do well getting his services! I think we will see several off of their roster contribute to D1 programs.
