The question is what do they spend it on? Are these numbers apples to apples?

Those are 2018 numbers according to the article. It said UGA’s recruiting budget jumped from $2.6 million to $3.7 million in 2019. Wow.

Yeah we need a better breakdown cuz just in flights alone, I'd think Bama would be tops.

They rarely get 8 or so players in-state annually and have to travel across the country for the rest of the class.

Schools in talent-hotbed states Georgia, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Cali...I'd expect to be lower on the list, but what do I know.

Kirby is opening the wallet as the ghost or Mark Richt begins to stalk him.
Georgia never had a talent problem, but could never win the big ones.

Guess you could look at roster breakdowns of the top teams to get a good idea of how much they’d spend in travel. It wouldn’t tell you about the misses , but it’d give you something to go on

With as much money as the football program is taking in annually we should be right there with UGA on recruiting expenditures.

It would seem Hawaii would have to spend the most in recruiting just based off flying people in.

Is this the thread where LSU fans pretend LSU isn’t paying recruits under the table?

I’m more interested in what proper use of funds Georgia is spending 3x our budget on.

Social media?
Other marketing?

You are limited on the amount of staff you can have actually contacting players.

They have to. The only way UGA is going to win a title is to flat out be more talented.

Kirby isn't a good gameday coach.

Just because they waste a bunch of money doesn’t mean we should.

Our recruiting budget hasn’t cost a single recruit.

The supposed bagman, etc, does not come out of the recruiting budget.

UGA: Part of that is they are going all over the country to recruit. When you fly in Recruits on officials from California, etc, and pay for I think up to 3 family members (I think), that can get into some serious dollars. Then you think about sending your coaches all over the country, that cost money as well. Look at how many players UGA signed from outside of GA. How many OOS kids are they bringing in for Officials. All those in-state GA kids can drive for unofficials and UGA can select who they want to go after before bringing those kids in for officials. My guess is they are bringing in tons of OOS kids for officials.
