Great article from 247 on Micah Baskerville and loyalty to his home state and team.

Evangel (Shreveport, La.) four-star linebacker Micah Baskerville is officially a U.S. Army All-American, and he was presented his jersey during a ceremony at his school on Tuesday.
“It feel great” Baskerville said. "It feels amazing just because of all the work I’ve done.
"Not too many people can get here. You have to treasure the moment. It means a lot to fill those shoes and do the best you can playing in this game, because you are held to a certain standard.”
With a trip now set for San Antonio in January, Baskerville said he’s got his sights set on what he wants to take away from a week spent at the Army All-American Game.
"I am looking to pick up some knowledge from coaches about being a better linebacker, and then meeting other guys,” he said.
Baskerville has been committed to LSU since the spring, and he hasn’t wavered with that pledge since.
With the first National Signing Day just a couple weeks away, where do things stand now?
"It’s very strong,” Baskerville said. "They came and visited with me and talked to my family, and just the stuff about being a Tiger and life after has been really good. Even if you don’t go to the NFL, you will have a great life and meet new people and have those connections.
"It means a lot to be committed to LSU, actually. I grew up watching the school and I really liked it, and my family likes it, too.”
LSU’s staff went in-home with Baskerville last week, and then area recruiter Steve Ensminger and head coach Ed Orgeron went in-home with him on Monday evening.
What was the message from the staff?
"Coach O, Coach Aranda, Coach Ensminger, they have all come to meet me and laid it out,” Baskerville said. "We talked about football, but they all hit hard on life after football. The people I meet at LSU are great people, and they can help start a life with your family after college by making those connections and graduating and getting a good job.
"We just talked about the culture and being down at LSU, and being a Tiger. After football, that doesn’t last long, Coach O was telling me the opportunity I have after football by being an LSU Tiger. There are opportunities for me to be successful.”
After welcoming Orgeron in-home on Monday, Baskerville said he’s as eager as ever to play for the Louisiana native in college.
"It was exciting,” he said. "He always brings excitement and he’s always fired up. It was very exciting.
"He made a lot of jokes. He’s a pretty good guy.
"Overall, he said just to come in and be ready to go as a Tiger. He said I am a great football player with a great chance to play early my freshman year. It’s just about my work ethic and doing well with my school work.
"It’s going to be a little different from high school. I feel like I can make the transition by starting the college life early and becoming a grown up. That makes me learn the system early and what they do and what they don’t like to do. It will give me a big jump once the season comes.”
Baskerville said he still plans to sign with LSU on Dec. 20, then enroll in college in January.
"I feel like it’s going to be very exciting,” he said. "It may be emotional for my family because I will be away from my family for a while, and that’s what they aren’t used to. But it means a lot to us. To represent my state, it shows I have love for (Louisiana). I want to go there and win a National Championship for my state.
“Right now, I am trying to finish strong in school and get some more knowledge from Coach Dawson about how to go through school and go through life and be a better child of God.”
Baskerville is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 6 middle linebacker in the country for the 2018 class. He joins two more Evangel teammates as LSU commitments in defensive lineman Davin Cotton and defensive back ArDarius Washington.

Tell you what, sounds very much like when Booger and Faulk were recruited. They both cited "play for the state" as a reason Dinardo was able to get them.
Can't help but smile at that.
And we're going to love seeing him roam the middle for us.

This is awesome. Sounds like a good kid who isn’t focused only on the NFL and wants to get an education as well.

Been high on this kid since the beginning. A lot to like about this class even though it may not be a star studded like 2019
