There is A LOT of smoke that if he qualifies in the classroom he will be flipping to LSU. Anybody have any info on how he’s doing in the classroom? From all accounts, Marcel Brooks has been on him constantly!

New smoke or residual smoke from earlier in December?

Not gonna know too much either way til later in the spring most likely. We can see improvement in January and February which will help his case for sure but we won’t know anything for sure til later in the semester

Fingers crossed that the numbers work out to where LSU can take George in February because I think he would like to be here

I don't think numbers are going to be the issue with George. It's gonna come down to who is willing to allow him to sign outside of Auburn. Watch Tennessee

If both Sophser brothers and Lee want on board numbers will definitely be an issue, no?

I think what makes the most sense is let Hampton walk, sign Lee as a safety, and use that last spot on George as the second WR in the class

George might be a bigger risk of a wasted scholly than Hampton depending on how bad his academic situation is.

I think they should both be free to sign in February, if they're qualified and they both intend to attend LSU.

The problem is that neither of them appear to fit those criteria right now.

posted this in a different topic, but still applies...
1 Parker
2 Hampton - think he goes MLB. Banks would be great to get back, but think it’s Ward or Williams.
3&4 Amite DL brothers or Young and Fuller - NOLA.com article about Young growing up a fan of LSU. Just think with the #s crunch at another SEC school that he ends up at LSU.
5 Lee
6 Pickens
* Plumlee is the wildcard depending on how it all plays out before NSD.

If the situation is the same come NSD, I say we skip on both.

Probably not. When was the last year that numbers were tight at LSU?

The funny thing about this is that the numbers weren't really tight...we just thought they were at the time. We being our staff.

well, yeah, in hindsight we had room, but they were tight when decisions on who to take commitments from had to be made. That's what matters, isn't it? That's the nature of holding spots for guys on NSD. You don't always get everyone you're holding a spot for, but the numbers were still tight because we turned away a good 4* recruit at a position of need.

I agree...I guess I'm just complaining that our staff didn't have more hindsight. I mean, we only took 22 commits in 2018. I feel like our staff should've had a better grasp of things...I could be wrong.

Think we all knew at the time that holding out hope for the oos qb was a bad idea. The key is that the staff has learned from past issues.
