Just watched some of his highlights and holy shite, some of his blocks are unbelievable. Dude looks strong as hell..

Should be a fun ride the next few years with him and Davis.

I don’t ever hope a guy doesn’t get to play when he wants to, but I hope that we don’t blow a year on two frosh running backs.

I think emery separates himself from the other true and redshirt frosh.

Might be best for Tyrion Davis to redshirt and let his body mature. Can’t look at him directly, but he may want to fill out that 230 lbs. Never hurts to let a player steep in a years worth of
-Practice
-Playbook
-Conditioning

You don’t really need to redshirt RBs. If they are any good, they’re not gonna be here 5 years anyway.

Serious.

Between emery who is 5-11 210 and T Davis who is 6-1 230, emery’s body comp is probably sooner ready to go for his style.

Just because a guy is 6-1 230 does t mean he’s physically mature yet. He may not get any bigger and I am not advocating that.

Just saying for a freshman running back that is not named Leonard fournette and 230 lb, it may benefit him to redshirt since we have a 5 star wjth two other redshirt frosh ready to go.

It is not always about size, but how they can carry their size they also factors into physical maturity.

Ducre was 6-0 230+. Hasn’t contributed of note.

Don’t just look at ht/wt and gloss over. Look at emery and Davis in film. Who’s ready?

It’s not that hard to understand.

Emery is a multi talented RB.

I noticed one commentator predicted he would be the SEC's newcomer of the year next season.

We've had plenty of freshman running backs come in and contribute. Darryl Williams came in the same year as Fournette with a similar build and saw time as a freshman.

As someone else has already mentioned, the days of redshirting RBs is gone. That doesn't mean he has to touch the ball 15 times a game, but there's no need to redshirt him.

I would be tempted to say that EVERY LSU RB of note (maybe aside from Brosette) has had notable contributions in their FR year.

The days of redshirting 4 * rb are still here as noted by, well.....this year.

It still happens.

There’s no way you watched Davis’s film and said “he isn’t ready”. Both he and emery are physically ready to contribute and are probably gonna be 1A and 1B by mid season or earlier.

I was just about to say, there is no way you watched his tape. Dude is legit! he's the No. 5 rated running back in the country. This is his junior year

I’m not saying that.

.....which is what an 18 year old’s body does from 18-25. It happens. He’s going to be a different person in 2020 than he is in 2019.

I saw 6-1 225 Dexter Pratt’s film for example, and thought he was ready. But roster management dictates that sometimes 4 stars get red shirted like Chris Curry. Pratt saw the log jam and actually went to Ok state.

It happens as we saw This year.

Not trying to initiate a pissing contest. But there are 6 rb on the roster wjth 4 of them being frosh with only one senior.

One of these two may have to redshirt. May have to.....not will have to. It’s something to speculate on since this is a recruiting board and they don’t show up until August.

So our problem this year was we had a "log jam" at RB? I've no response to that genius assessment.

Last year folks thought curry was going g to make a splash. What did he do? Redshirted.

And there was no log jam last year. It’s okay and it happens.

Take your Midol with a meal and full glass of water next time.

Davis may RS. He may not, but if he does it won't be so his body can mature.

That is just ludicrous.
