I was going to start a thread on the topic of Louisiana now being considered "Hollywood South" and if you guys think that has had a positive effect on out of state recruiting. But I guess the obvious answer is, additional publicity can only be a positive.

Redfield and Ramsey are locks. Worst-kept-secret kind of locks.

Most Vol fans have conceded that Ramsey is heading to USC (he is the #1 player in TN this year). He is announcing on 7/16. Redfield is announcing soon as well.

Hatcher and Hargreaves would be categorized more as hope-to-gets.

Kiffin doing what he does best in recruiting, now they can fire him and go out and get a real good coach to utilize it all.

Congrats to USC
I was really hoping that the late surge rumors were true and that he would end up with you guys instead of Oregon.

Why not hope fore LSU? Then you never have to face him.

Oregon will get a quality DT. One good enough to keep the steak with UW alive.

I wouldn't have minded LSU either, but I didn't believe he would go anywhere outside of the Pac-12.

I've heard rumors that USC is going to recruit to 25, and then slowly cut down the class to 18 over the next several months towards signing day. I don't buy it yet, but if they get up to 20 or so and are still recruiting hard, then it will be obvious that that is their strategy.

Willis wants to see the recruiting process all the way through. USC wants talent locked up and committed as soon as possible. If Hargreaves commits, we won't have a spot for Priest, unless someone doesn't qualify academically. That would open up a late spot. By that time he may have already committed to LSU.

SC will have the #1 ranked class on signing day with only 18 commits.

Fortunately for the rest of the country #1 in recruiting doesn't equal a NC. Not long ago the Trojans were #1 every year weren't they? And they have 0 BCSNC's to show for it.

I'm not losing sleep over their recent recruiting coup.

In fairness... have you seen pac1 forums? They make rantards look genius.

There is no way that can be their strategy. It effectively re-opens the process for every guy they have committed because it gives too much ammo to the schools they're fighting off for those kids.

If they get 25 committed knowing they only have 18 spots, every competing school can come in with the same pitch about "how do you know your spot is safe there?". They've got to be smarter than that, especially with Lupoi at Wash, Oregon, and UCLAs new recruiters gunning for all their west coast guys, and the local powers going after their national guys.

Kiffin got Tenn busted in one year, so I dont think it will be long for him and Orgeron to get busted at USC, who's been busted before. Its easy for USC to recruit anyhow. There are a bunch of horrible football schools on the west coast while the east coast has to fight 80 schools to get good recruits.
