Nay, but it’ll be Ohio St. Tennessee, or us. We’ll eventually see.

Got a question for people who know more then me about the x’s and o’s
Is it Ok that our receivers we have committed and the ones we are targeting aren’t y’all? If we land Rakim our heights will be 5’11, 6’0, 6’1
Do you think we need bigger receivers or is that a dumb question?

IMO it’s fine, considering their skill level. Isn’t Rakim 6’0? I mean just look at Odell and Jarvis when they were here, they both are 5’11. Maybe if these were lower tier guys it would be a little more concerning but all 3 of these guys Boutte, Burton, and Jarrett are all top 40 prospects overall. Boutte fits perfectly in the slot, and Burton and Jarrett are so athletic and gifted at WR height won’t be a big issue. Speed kills, and with these 3 they have speed for days. This is just one class too, who knows maybe in 2021 they sign two 6’5 WR’s. It could go down as our best WR haul ever along with the Jarvis and Odell year.

It would be nice to get taller receivers but the boutte, rakim, and Burton trio has so much speed that height won’t be a huge issue.

Before I think size mattered but the offense is rpo based and runs route trees that originate out the air raid style of offense. Typically your faster more agile receivers thrive though it can also be geared toward bigger possession type receivers a la Michael Thomas with the saints. Jeudy for Bama thrived in that offense last year. It relies on timing/spacing and getting seperation quickly.

Height isn’t everything. We have had Sullivan and Anderson for 4 years now and not much production has come solely from their height. Jefferson caught more deep balls than both of them because he is good at running routes, which all 3 of these recruits do really well.
I’m happy we are beginning to recruit receivers that can actually run routes instead of guys that just run deep and catch the ball over some scrub corner at 1 A High School.

It's not a dumb question. I think the days of the 6'4"- 6'5" WRs are dying out as well. Teams are wanting more complete WRs: fast, route running but can go up and get it as well compared to the redzone threats.
Outside of Courtland Sutton last year, every WR in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft were in that 5'11" to 6'2" range. It's just the style of the offenses now

Ja'Marr Chase is going to benefit from it a LOT this season.

Bama's top 4 WR's last year were all 5'10"-6'2", including the one that won the Biletnikoff award. I think LSU is favoring faster, more polished WRs (Chase, Rakim Jarrett, Burton, etc.) over tall but raw guys like Anderson or Sullivan.
Obviously if a tall and skilled guy is available they like him too (Terrace Marshall) but speed and quickness seem to be the most important attributes in an RPO system, as other posters have mentioned.

Josh Reed was 5'10" when he was at LSU, he did okay.
