Do we seriously believe LSU will sign a top 5 class in 2019?

We all get it. The state of Louisiana is the most talented class of recruits maybe ever. But with LSU continuing to slide, and with Bama/Clemson/Georgia getting who they want, and with A&M and Texas trending upward, I feel very confident we don't get top 5 class even with the in state talent. Most, if not all of those programs will get their share of Louisiana talent here. I feel as long as Orgeron is here we're screwed. Thoughts?

i don't think O is here in a year. he is trending in the wrong direction, and i think the 2018 schedule is gonna put him out of a job. 2019 class will go up in smoke because LSU failed to do the right thing in november of 2015.

Yeah we better get ready to see a LOT of highly ranked guys committing to schools outside the state. I can see it now, "Sopsher shocks all and commits to Alabama". When asked what convinced him to make the decision, "I just want to win championships".

Best guess is, we’ll lose half the blue chips in La and finish around 15-20.

Bama will get 2-4.
aTm/ UT will get 1 or 2.
UGA/Clemson will get 1 or 2.

If any good QBs are left Ole Miss will help themselves

How could I forget Kansas? 1 or 2 NOLA kids for them.

With Jimbo to the west and Saban to the east raiding Louisiana, Orgeron will be lucky to have even a top-10 class, especially if the 2018 season is a debacle, which it could very well be.

Hope always springs eternal. This time last year we were getting Surtain and Anthony Cook.

It's really going to depend on the product that the kids see on the field. Generally speaking, kids want to play for the home state school, particularly one that has had the success of LSU.

BUT, they're also going to make whatever business decision they feel is best. If they're really NFL caliber players, they'll likely get there regardless. But if they're looking to win championships along the way...LSU has to show that they can do that. And you only have one year to prove it to THIS class.

A very real possibility, sadly.

Asking Tigerdroppings to be positive is like telling a girl she is beautifu in 2018l....in either instance rape will be alleged.

One thing that should give people hope is that the 2019 class has a guy like Kardell Thomas already committed and recruiting everyone else in his class. He has accepted the role of leader in this group.

2018 didn't have a guy like that.

Not with CEO leading the way. Surtain was an LSU "lock" and Bama makes a late push with their process and rings to steal him at the last second. You have to win and have a great head coach. CEO was suppose to make up for his lack of being a great head coach by hiring the best coordinators in the country and being one of the best recruiters in the country. He has failed at both.

That's not really a shock anymore, these kids do want to win a championship. shite, Fournette thought he was gonna win one in his time at LSU, and really in his last season there they were loaded enough to win one and failed badly. So, Sopsher going to Bama for that wouldn't surprise anyone I think.

LSU will get it share next year, but like Landry said, there will always be those "groupie" types that are going to go to where all the other talent is at in order to ensure a championship ring. There are always those Kevin Durant types that want to take the easy road.

sucks but it is what it is

Maybe now with Georgia rising up and schools like Clemson and Ohio State giving them a run, it may break up the strangle hold Bama has on the talent. Until that gets broken up it is going to be tough go in recruiting and thus on the field.

If the Louisiana players stick together, and getting some key out of state players, hopefully with players like Thomas leading the way, we can also help break up this stranglehold.
