DJU recruitment with Jeff Scott leaving Clemson

247 lists Jeff Scott as his recruiter at Clemson, with him taking the head coaching job at USF.....anyone know if this changes things for DJU?.....and by anyone I mostly mean Vol

Johnson maybe, but Finley has been a glue for this group. He is recruiting for us, putting together message groups for commits, showing up at peoples signings, etc. Sometimes you stand by someone because of what they mean to you, not what they can do for you.

I actually wholeheartedly agree. I never wanted finley in this class until I saw the interview of him talking about recruiting other players for us. He seems to promote LSU as much as anyone. Even so, I still do not think him or Johnson are even close to what we need. LSU has had elite athletes for a long time. The difference this year is an elite QB. We may never have one as good as Joe again but we need to start pulling top QBs if we want to keep this train rolling. I would be more than happy to be wrong about both of them, though.

I just don't understand how Clemson seems to land the #1 QB in the country every few years.
And now they've actually convinced DJ to sit behind Lawrence for a year when he could start at almost any other school.

The amount of negativity a lot of this board has about our QB recruits is bizarre.

People do not like you mentioning anything that could be deemed as a slight to one of our recruits and I honestly understand that. I just think that, of all positions, if you have a chance to land an elite QB you do it despite what it might do to other relationships.
