Jenkins is the first pure CB prospect we have committed.

I wouldn't worry about him swaying. His commitment has been one lingering on the horizon for awhile now. LSU is his dream offer.

Great to have you David.

His comment that Ensminger was the best recruiter that he experienced, is music to my ears. Keep it up Stevie Wonder.

Sounds great...now who is he?

Not a flame but on Scout he is rated the 51st CB in the nation. He must have really stepped it up in his workouts for the Tigers and Longhorns..

Like I've said before, when it comes to DBs, OL, and LBers you really have to go with camps and coaches over recruiting sites. These sites are famous for making eval mistakes in these particular area. Being a Bama fan and knowing Sabans history you should know this, if not, now ya do

Darelle Revis and Patrick Willis were both 3 stars and ranked in the 40's at their respective positions if memory serves me right.

Even all of the UT fans on the Mainboard are talking about how great of a pickup it is and how they wished he was in their class. Definitely will at minimum be in the Rivals250 on the next release. He's a top 3 CB in Texas.

the Aggies are givng the Tea sips a hard time for saying jenkins disn't have a commitable offer!

quote:

Sounds like he had an offer, but if it makes UT fans feel better to believe he never had an offer, and thus he really didn't choose another school over UT, so be it. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

quote:

I guess UT never offered Craig Loston or Russell Shepard either.

quote:

whenever a player chooses a school other than UT, then that recruit never had an offer. It is a pattern repeated so often that it has become a cliché

and the Longhorns are on their site doing some splainin!
quote:

With the status that UT has assumed (like that of LSU, Alabama, and Florida in the SEC) kids want to be seen as having offers from these schools and many actually manipulate their "offer sheet" in order to enhance their profile. Since none of the "gurus" get their information directly from the coaching staff at Texas (or anywhere else for that matter unless the staff is willing to commit an NCAA actionable offense), the only source of information about commitments comes from the kid or a member of the kid's circle...all of whom have an interest in enhancing the kid's profile and all of whom often mistake interest as an offer. Additionally, anyone who uses Oragngebloods as a reference source is proving they have little grasp of the realities of recruiting or Orangebloods.

This doesn't mean the kid isn't good enough to play, or even star, at Texas. It simply means that the priority of the Texas staff has not for a while, and still doesn't, include another defensive back. If they miss on one or more of the 3 guys they've targeted, a defensive back slot may open up if they feel an available db is better than the next guy in line at the positions of need.

quote:

Texas always offers a few kids that choose to go elsewhere. Nothing to be ashamed of.

and about their chances to get Raven.

quote:

Does this mean LSWho is pretty much filled up at CB? If yes this should be great news regarding Floyd Raven.

quote:

U seemingly burned that bridge w/ Raven but who knows, the kids from Louisiana are pretty much forced to go there.

crazy aggies!
