No idea...I am sure we are looking at him....according to this site he is the #1 kicker and from Hahnville....this is the first I have heard of his name....but with the Louisiana so deep this yr, I don't see him getting an offer from LSU this early in the game...

Just went through the list on my phone and Louisiana has about 5 or 6 in the top 25 on that particular list.

Actually 3 of the top 10 are from Louisiana and 4 of the top 25 if anyone is counting.

Those entire rankings are based on 10 field goals and 10 kickoffs. The 2nd guy on the list missed one field goal, but has better kickoff distance/hangtime. So to say this Ford guy is better than Dylan S based on one missed kick doesn't make much sense.

The kid can kick really well. I have been multiple Hahnville games the last couple of years, and the coaches have no fear on trotting him out there when most teams would punt.
I think he needs just a tad more on the strength side, but that will come in college. He is pretty skinny. His kicking coach is Alex Romero, who walked on to LSU a few years back but ended up at Nicholls. He also had a stint with the Voodoo and the practice squad of the Niners.

With there being several top kickers from instate, I have a feeling we can easily get one to walk on. Ive heard Fords name the most surrounding the kicking prospects...wonder if hes gonna pick up good offers from schools. And I've heard Miles is interested in taking a special teamer this cycle, but theres only a limited amount of spots and so much interested top tier talent at other offer worthy positions.

Hairston is a JR and supposedly taking over the kicking this year, so I think that the staff will be evaluating our walk-ons carefully this fall to gauge whether any of them are good enough to take over after him.
If not, then I think Les will want a kicker in the 2014 class, as sad as that is in a class so stacked. We have two redshirt freshmen kickers on the team now, and I know that we have at least one more preferred walk-on kicker coming this fall, so I can't imagine that we would offer a kicker until we know more about the guys we already have.

Good points...I think taking a preferred walk on this year would make perfect sense. We could probably get a talented one with the options in state.
Any know about our kicking options currently on the team? Delahoussaye was a highly touted walk on IIRC

Yip Delahoussaye turned down offers from Miss St and Houston to walk on at LSU. I think his accuracy might be better than Hairston's. Trent Domingue is also on the roster and I know Kansas State really wanted him, but they don't give kickers scholarships.
I wouldn't be surprised if LSU does what Bama has done the last couple years and uses a short range kicker and Hairston for longer kicks.

I played soccer with Kjellsten and known him for a while and my little brother kicked with him.
He is a fairly good kicker and a very good soccer player and can punt on the run like an australian but the kid is small they were being very generous with his measurements. He is more like 5'5" and way less than 140 unless unless he has grown in 4 inches in 4 months. Both his parents are tall though so he might get a boost, but he certainly wont be ably to make any trick plays or make a last ditch tackle.

Chris Sailer is the worst unless you go to all his camps you get a shitty ranking. Once it's put down that Alex is at LSU he will bump him up to D1 or D2

Is he going in as a kicker or punter? Those punting stats aren't impressive, but the 52 yarder always looks nice on the stat-sheet
