Hey Guys. Just wanted to check back in..clear the air..give an update...and just sort of get this thing back on track.

I first want to say that me not posting has nothing to do with anyone's opinion of Quad, and certainly not myself. I try to be above reproach in my day to day, so when I see posts arguing back and forth about nothing having to do with Quad, and using foul language or comments like ESS MY DEE, it makes me not want to post anything at all.

My intention from the beginning of posting here, was to simply get in contact with the right people at LSU, and facilitate some conversations between him, and the staff. Again, the motive behind doing so, is because I believe its a good fit for both parties, and I have love for LSU.

And things started to evolve, which is a GREAT thing! And as things evolve and stakes get higher, certainly things can get messy as Hold that Tiger 10 has mentioned.

I want to remind everyone that I Coach and mentor kids from ages 9-17 in Birmingham. Hundreds of them. I have an 11 year old DT that is 6'2 260 pounds and can run. Yes... an 11 year old. My passion and purpose revolves around helping these kids get better opportunities in life. I don't want anything from LSU, and I don't want anything from any other school that any of my kids choose to go to.

My calling is to assist in eradicating the virus of violence, illiteracy, poverty, and racism that has infected our city for years and years. My vehicle to doing my part is in Athletics, Education, and Mentoring these young men. At the end of the day my goal is accomplished when one of my young men get a free education.

Yes, I do have a personal relationship with Quad. Yes I admit at times that can make me biased just like any other parent. But Quad is simply the first of many more young men that I would love to see choose BR at home instead of Tuscaloosa. I believe that LSU is truly a special place for a young man to grow and move on to do great things. This fact has not changed.

With all that said, both Quad and I know that this is a process. He has offers rolling in and for that he is blessed. We know that there is a chance that LSU never offers Quad. We understand that there are several variables that will result in an offer or no offer, and that several of those variables have nothing to do with how good he is.

If LSU does offer Quad, we will be thrilled. If they do not, my respect and love for the institution will not be swayed. I have a ton of respect for the staff, particularly Coach Ensminger.

Guys for me this is way bigger than Football. Try and keep that in mind. I am happy to keep posting and updating. Lets just try to keep things above the belt if we can.

I hope everyone is having a great week.

Glad you're back Coach J. You've been missed. You're doing the Lord's work with these young men.

That's just awesome. That's most definitely a future O-lineman. Is it too soon for Ensminger to offer him?

Coach, thanks for starting this thread. Please understand that the vast majority of us who read TD love hearing stories like that of Quad. And are pulling for him to be successful in high school, and at the college of his choice. Hopefully that college is LSU.

Also please understand that in any large group, there will be one or two folks who have issues in life. Perhaps their mother didn't love them enough. They take it out by trolling on others. Please don't get into an argument with them. It only encourages their bad behavior.

Please keep posting on Quad and letting us know how the journey is going.

Tons of respect for you for this. I know for a fact, that while teaching kids the game of football, you are also giving them valuable life lessons that can't be measured on the football field. With, or without, college scholarships you are probably changing the lives of many kids for the better. You couldn't possibly be given enough praise for that.

My only issues came up when other recruits were getting trashed. I know it wasn't you, but as much respect as I have for what you are doing, I have zero for Ltown, who tied himself to you in this thread.

Coach, I believe, as do most, that your intentions are purely motivated in a desire to help youth. You should be commended for this, and you are undoubtedly serving as a much needed blessing and mentor for many youth from arduous upbringings. May God bless you for this, my friend!

I absolutely love times on TD when I get to read of things of this nature. Events of kindness and purity that transcend sports, and reinforce the lessons in life, etc. With that said; as much I as I love TD/rant, I often get disappointed with the juvenile stuff that takes over so many threads. When some start to disagree with one another, I'm hopeful to see both sides debate, and make valid points, and engage others on these forums to also take part in meaningful discussion. Too often though, the name calling, vulgarity, and "ESS MY DEE" stuff starts flying. I think its great whenever someone has a dissenting opinion, and they choose to support their argument with factual evidence, statistics, etc.

Hopefully we can encourage more spirited discussions, and leave out the pinheaded stupidity. It's a small minority, but they are indeed a loud and obnoxious group at times. It's the very thing that often causes me to not chime in more, or makes me reluctant to actually share information or insight to a situation that I might have good information on.

Thank you again for what you do, and for sharing information with us. Most all of us are pulling for Quad, for his football career, and more importantly, for his total future in life. If he ends up in P&G, that would be fantastic. If life takes him somewhere else, we still all should be glad to hear of yet another success story. GEAUX QUAD! and....

Thanks for posting Coach. The majority of us appreciate the thread for much of the honest insight and information. If things work out for Quad to be in Baton Rouge most of us will be thrilled.

At the end of the day Quad's futuee is much bigger than football and I appreciate your investment in the lives of young men. This is sorely lacking in today's society but what a difference it can make.

Any update or information on why Quad doesn't have a rating on any if the recruiting sites? I've heard a lot of posters talk about his skills and you mention that you've been told his rating, but I'm just curious why we haven't seen anything? Any insight would be appreciated...
