Where does Quad's strong interest in LSU come from?

It comes from Coach J.

Coach J is an LSU fan and has known the QB problem this school has faced for the majority of a decade. Coach J is just highlighting that opportunity to a QB like Quad.

If LSU offers, and Quad signs, then you better thank Coach for basically getting him to the good guys.

And I don't say all that to insinuate Quad can't make his own decisions, but just to show that Quad can be the beginning of something special and Coach J has been on him for years. Coach J told me about Quad 2 years ago. And that's a fact.

I am happy to answer this. I grew up an LSU fan. I am originally from Louisiana. Most of my family is as well. My cousin played in Tiger Band. I love LSU. I did not attend LSU primarily because I played Football at the Division 2 level. I played Middle Linebacker, and unfortunately I ran a 4.9 40, and didn't understand the value of camps, and the recruiting process when I played. So I played D2. Just was not good enough for Division 1 let alone to run out of the tunnel as a Tiger. LSU is my first love. So naturally when kids that I mentor and Coach want to know where I think the best place to play ball and get an education at the Division 1 level is, my first instinct is to tell them all about LSU, its rich traditions, and what being a Tiger could mean to their future.

Regarding Quad, this has been something discussed over the last several years. When he asked me to help him with his recruiting and to guide him through the process, naturally LSU was a place that was foremost on my mind to tell him about.

That led me here. And the story goes on.

Quad has visited LSU twice. And the best thing I can tell you about his interest in LSU is deeply connected to his DNA, his mindset, his thought process, and his overall Character, which is wise beyond his years.

As a small insight to who he is, I want to share with you all something he said to me on his second visit to LSU.

As we walked though campus, and I am telling him all about different parts of campus, the history, the nostalgia, the culture, and what it means to be a Tiger, he stopped at a tailgate.

This tailgate had a rack of LSU helmets, placed neatly by the curb. He stopped and picked up each helmet, looked at it with a look on his face of admiration, and intense curiosity. This rack contained every style of helmet that LSU has ever had dating back to the leather helmet days. He picked up every single one and held it for a few minutes. He didnt say a word.

As we left the display, he said the following thing to me that really resonated.

"Coach the thing I want to feel most from visiting College Campuses, is that I can bring my future children to the school when my playing days are over, and for my kids to be proud that their Dad played ball at that particular school. Coach, I want to feel at home. Coach, I feel at home at LSU. I want to walk my son that I will have one day through this campus, just as you have and teach I'm all about what makes LSU home"

At that moment, I knew that Quad wanted to be a Tiger. Not because I am a Tiger at heart, but because he felt at home.

My friends, when I say that he wants to be a Tiger should LSU offer, I mean he 100 percent wants to be a Tiger. And I do believe in my heart and my mind, that Quad Brown can lead the Tigers to a Championship.

And as Forrest Gump would say..."Thats all I got to say about dat"

Geaux Tigers.

I don’t know about y’all but I’m sold. Even got some goosebumps from that post. I don’t know whether or not he’ll pan out but he seems talented enough for a spot on this team. He seems to have the drive and especially the want to be a great Tiger. These are the kids we need and want wearing our colors.

LSU needs this kid. The Quads of the world, which are few and far between, is what LSU needs right now. Quad would truly, “Bring back the magic,” to Tiger Stadium. Just look what his story has brought to this board. Imagine that x102,000 plus.

Well Coach, if I wasn’t already a big enough Quad fan you just put me over the top. Not only do we want great athletes at LSU but we want kids that understand how big of a deal it is to represent this university and the privilege it is to be able to play in Death Valley for 3-4 years. As a lifelong LSU fan and alum, thank you for sharing this moment. GEAUX QUAD!!!

Any of those schools impress him during his visits? I would think Lville would be a threat considering what petrino has done with lamar jackson as a slim qb with a rocket arm

I see some sources saying he is ranked as a 4-star. I’m rooting for the kid but I can’t find the service that has him even ranked, much less as a four star. Though I believe he has that kind of talent, can you direct me to where that ranking comes from?

Geaux Coco great Question:

Georgia, Alabama, State, and A&M reached out today. A few schools that came to see him the last week are about to offer.

He is attending Elite 11 in Atlanta in March for all those interested. He will not attend 3 stripe until April in Atlanta due to Basketball. They have a team that will most likely go to State. He dropped another 30 a few nights ago.

I did not feel comfortable advising him to go to 3 stripe until after Basketball concludes

Right now we are just preparing and scheduling his camp circuit. He getting a lot of love from a lot of teams right now which I knew would happen.

At this time it is our intention for him to attend the Skills camp LSU is holding in June.

We will see. Bama is already starting to pitch the idea of him coming in with Football and Basketball, but I’m not overly concerned bc Quad really does not have any desire to play Basketball in College.

That’s the update tonight fellas.

Been a heck of a 48 hours!

We all knew this was coming. LSU better open their freaking eyes for it is about to be to late...2weeks to a month max. Tigers don’t do any thing by then I’m afraid we will swing and miss once again. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make the dumb SOB drink!!!
