It worries me some but it’s not like there’s a massive talent exodus going to Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama etc.. I think talent has just been a little down in state the last couple years.

I never worried about CEO as a recruiter. The results on the field is what has given me less worry on Star Power.

We just trust what he’s doing and enjoy competing for SEC / National Championships.

Don't often agree with you, but do here.
LSU was already a National Brand, with three nattys since 2000 and a chance at a fourth.
The difference now is that LSU is a hot, trendy national name, in part b/c of a 15-0 season, but in part b/c of the WAY we won our games looked fun and b/c of the Heisman and all the other awards that came our way. The draft didn't hurt either.

I get it. And this year presents problems without camps. Several of these kids are going to blow up at other schools. I just hope the local coaches don’t take it personally & the kids don’t make it a habit when they do actually get an offer.

Could be totally coincidental with the lull the last two years. But history shows there aren’t many back to back down years in Louisiana.

I get what you’re saying but can you please give some examples? Who did O pass on that you think was a mistake?

There are several guys they are using as back burner guys that would be a part of most LSU classes

Hargrove
Diggs
Pazon
Nabers
Gilbert

are the type of guys evaluated between their Jr/Sr years that usually get offers.

C’mon now Lester. You can’t possibly be this obtuse. LSU and O are casting a much bigger net. They are loaded at WR with the Walker kid still on the board and you list 3 middle of the road WRs?

Again, you can knock O for very few things these days and this is near the top of the list.

Pazon is the only WR on my list

Nabers you’d take at CB.

Not even sure who else you think is a WR

Lester, I’m actually somewhat with you overall—I think it’s in our best interest to take more Louisiana kids on average than we are this year—but I think the past two years are somewhat anomalous and 2022 will be the year we see what the real strategy is. Louisiana has a LOT of impact talent at a wide range of positions in 2022, and it would make for an outstanding foundation for a class.

2022, in fact, is the type of year that is the reason why maintaining a strong in-state presence is so important: Because when *the* year comes around—the stacked in-state year that you can build a #1 class on—you want those in-state kids’ choices to be as close to a foregone conclusion as possible.

All that being said, I think we’re gonna be taking a (relatively) big Louisiana crop in 2022, and I think our 2022 class has a DAMN good shot of being an all-timer. We’ve already got a big lead on the field, already have our stud QB commit to help lead the push on the offensive side, and we’ve got a crazy deep in-State crop to pick from. It’ll be interesting to see what our strategy is in 2022

It’s a typo.

But who would they replace? You can’t seriously doubt this staff because they aren’t taking kids strictly based on their location. Where are those kids going that you listed?

Yep no more marginal kids from instate . Who while I love and respect them just weren’t SECcaliber . He’s def got it going as he has said before “ We are a National brand now”

Man, that just shot me back to this D-Line kid we got under Miles. He was strong as an ox, but only 5’10”/5’11”. We were desperate for D-Line and had to take him. Makes me realize that Miles wasn’t just frustrating on game day.

Yea I was going over 22’ yesterday. I think upwards of 12 LA kids should be in the class.

This was supposed to be a decent year in state at the same time last year. Having no camps hurt.

They all have national offer lists. Do you even follow recruiting hoss?

And I haven’t said they should replace anyone. LSU is actively in contact with all these guys and they could still end up in the class.

Which part of your statement "you list 3 middle of the road WRs" is a typo?

You made an incorrect statement but won't own it. I hate wasting my time reading bs from posters that fill the board with crap just because they want want to argue.
