At 6-5 335, is Crawford going to play tackle?

Yes. One of the reasons I'm so high on Crawford is that in his Jr year he was a 'maybe' for a P5 OT. He put in a lot of work and molded himself into being physically able/skilled to play OT at this level.

That's a trait that should be sought, definitely not overlooked is the ability (and help/coaching) to re-define his abilities and physical skill sets.

Think of this way if he went from 'maybe an OT' to 'yes a good OT'... so, if that trajectory continues that's a good spot to be in.

It's better than an OL who is just huge and dominating smaller players and plateauing in HS.

ETA: hard choice between Lindberg and Crawford. Except Crawford is a grade risk. That matters. But if I had to choose on 'better OT'... I couldn't. They are not equal right now, but projecting out (by guess) I can see them both being equal after 1 yr of SEC coaching.

Yeah, he is an OT. However, everything hinges on his academics. As I heard recently though that he passed his ACT test but I don't know everywhere he is lacking or even if he is still lacking. I also heard there is another player besides LSU in the picture vying for his services.

Right now, he's qualified. Not enough margin for comfort with the NCAA (and SEC) gpa vs. ACT/SAT sliding scale. Next ACT test is the 14th with scores on the 26th.

Here's my GUESS: if we get a flip such as Lindberg for the early signing date, Crawford is out due to barely being over the line to gain academically. If we don't, he keeps testing hoping to get each section up. That's because his next chance of getting that margin up is after the early signing date.

In Short (guess): if we don't have to take the risk, we don't. If we do, it's his (Crawford's) job to minimize the risk. It's our (LSU's) job to eliminate it by trying for that flip.

This is why you never stop recruiting guys until they sign on the dotted line.

Lindberg was someone we were recruiting heavily and received mutual interest from him.

Don’t know about Ratledge.
