Can you offer more than the number of scholarships that you can give?

Whoever signs first gets it? Like overbooking for a flight?

Otherwise, it would be the kids getting "screwed over" and not the football programs.

I'm assuming you can't, so how do you blame any coaching staff when a kid flips at the last minute?

I just can't imagine that our coaching staff would be that clueless. There has to be some limiting factors.

Yes, it's called oversigning.

And then they have to pull one from someone and ask them to greyshirt?

happened on NSD 2017 to Jarez Parks and ALA

Parks was grey shirted on NSD and had to attend Juco for 1 semester. He ended up signing in December 2017 during the early period for 2018. Kid eventually got his dream wish to play at ALA but it was a cluster on National TV and made headlines everywhere.

So do you think this will happen more since they basically have two signing days now? One for the hard commits and one for the showboats.

You have to. It can't work any other way. Well, you could, but you would really suck at recruiting.

No. It's situational. There will be those you wait for, like Surtain; those who have to wait for others, like Goodrich; and those you might not take at all because you are filled up.
