Burch goes on the record

He added, “Me and my mom discussed, I wanted to go somewhere that I would be a priority, not another option.”

When asked which school was the toughest to say no to, he said “probably LSU.”
“I feel like I grew a great bond with them as a coaching staff,” Burch said
.

brah you'd be a priority here because I'm not sure they have anyone else on the roster close to your caliber...

If Burch wants to go waste his 3 years in college playing for a cellar dweller, then that’s on him. Good news is NFL teams draft guys off of shitty college teams all the time

So you’re saying that all we have to do is convince him that he is priority#1 and in line for a possible starting gig from day 1?

I trust that O can convey that appropriately over the next few weeks!

That’s a cover for “my mom wanted me to stay home”

He’s a good kid and will have a great career. Best of luck to him.

He is a hell of a prospect for sure but if wants to be the priority instead of an option then he should stay in state and be the best player on a 4 win team.

That does sound like a "big fish..little pond" mentality. A kid like this could stay close to home and be a "big fish..big pond" at Clemson.

So there’s zero chance he ends up at LSU.
It was fun while it lasted.

Lets make a huge push for Masson Smith, and Korey Foreman for 2021 instead, and hopefully get Mckinnley Jackson for 2020.

Nothing wrong with that, he wants to stay home where he is more comfortable and be the big man on campus. I get it.

It's not like he flipped at the last second so I can understand it. Took his time to make the right decision for him.

And it seems he’s been honest the whole time. I can respect that.

Sad.

His mom works for USC. It's hard for him to tell them no.

If that’s true it translates to “moms and I wanted to go somewhere where I’d be given the starting job without having to earn. I want my 5 star status to give me what I want and I not what I earned.” If that’s the case then bye. You’ll be great but bye.
