It was an open ended answer meaning you have to ask yourself that. Guess we know what YOUR answer is now.

And Gilberry didn't get drafted--not even the 7th round.

Running a 5.1 forty will do that to your draft stock. You can't deny that he was a hell of a player though. He only received one offer out of high school, which came after the AL-MS All-star Game.

As a Saints' fan, I am much happier with Ellis than Dorsey.

Sentimore gets jaded (unjustly), accepts Bama offer and sticks with it (honorable).

We will be ok and good luck to him.

You get your grades in order late in the process and your dream school, BAMA, offers you as they promised. You have not signed anything and a "verbal commit" really means nothing until you sign on the dotted line.

Your word is your word. Thats like you trying to tell the 95% on here that Saban saying he wasn't going to be the next head coach at Alabama was just verbal, and didn't mean anything. Good luck with that.

Are you telling me you wouldn't switch to your dream school, BAMA, of which you were a lifelong fan...and go to a rival school instead?

I can tell you at that age, and with reports about his momma influence to keep his word, my momma and daddy would have kicked my butt !

He was a great player. But not exactly what I would want to hear ("You're the next Gilberry") if I were a highly touted DT.

After one season. Lot's of folks here in Houston thought the Texans were silly for not taking Vince Young or Reggie Bush over Mario Williams too.

Good luck to Sentimore at Bama. I can't blame a kid for sticking with his commitment. It seems to me there are a couple of guys that are so called commitments to LSU that could use a lesson in what that word means.

Agreed! Nice Post.

We're talking about 17 year old kids who change their minds all the time. Very weak argument. There's a reason it's a verbal commitment and not a written one until Feb. 4th. They give time for kids to change their minds if they want to, and they should most certainly be allowed to. We've had 3 kids decommit from us this year and you don't see us tearing them apart for not honoring a verbal commitment. Nothing is final until you sign on the dotted line.

Verbal commitments mean nothing. Hundreds, heck, maybe a thousand kids each year decommit during the process to go to another school.

Good point, AND Dorsey didn't get hurt and miss games this year. And he was misused by his team.

Anybody saying a DE in the 3-4 can't easily translate to a DT in the 4-3 needs to get their heads checked

Players fluctuate all the time in the NFL, just like DEs and Jacks in the NFL. And even get drafted in the top 5 only to be expected to make that transition. You can get your sacks from the DL in the 3-4 see Gilberry.

Do Bama fans continue to wonder why we dislike Saban so much? If he had never coached at LSU, he wouldn't have any contacts in the state and we would not have a battle for every top Louisiana kid. Bama fans are oh so smug about this and are loving it.

One day, these guys are going to see Saban for the charlatan that he is. If Sentimore doesn't start by his Jr. year, he'll develop a mysterious injury and will leave the team to make room for the next high school stud.

Man, I hate Alabama.

Yep, I rememer the days. KNOWING JaMarcus was a huge Bama fan, Pat White too and watching Russell whip our arse when inside he bled crimson.

It sux but its life so dont get offended with a little payback. He's a hell of a player. Impact player with immediate potential and seeing how we didnt have a pass rusher this season will step in immediately. Along with 4.6 speed will be what we need to slow down Florida's attack. Need more of these but he's a start. Big pickup for whoever got him. If its Bama then we have solidified one side of our D line.

Is it possible that Les offered, but planned to Grey-shirt Sentimore so he would count against next year's class? Maybe he didn't like this idea and decided to go with the Bama offer (and not have to prove himself in the classroom in doing so)?

Seriously??
Why doesn't he just petition the NFL so he can go straight to the league?

I have seen Sentimore play several times. He does not run a 4.6. I would not even classify him as "quick". He always reminded me of a Marcus Spears type player. Big DE that held his own at the point of attack. Not really a pass rusher, IMO.
He is a good player. Top 10 talent in the state this year.
