Ok I'll give it to you in terms you'll understand....Say a buddy of yours tells you he wants you to build him a house, but he can't finalize everything until a year from now. You keep checking in with him and he keeps telling you oh yeah I still am going to need you to build that house for me.

You start buying some of the materials (stop recruiting other CBs) in anticipation of your friend giving you his word that he wants you to build a house for him.

You talk to him a few days before he is supposed to complete everything and he tells you that he's 100% going to use you to build his house, so you go out and you buy the materials to start setting up his foundation.

Then, after trying to contact him to be sure of when you need to get started building, and him dodging your calls, you get an email from a competing business of yours telling you that your friend just signed papers with him to build his house, and you're out all of the materials you've purchased.

You're cool with that, right? You just call your friend and say "hey buddy, I hope that house turns out to be great for you and your family. Don't worry about all the materials I've already purchased"

and FWIW if the home builder in your story was the largest home builder in the country (LSU with recruiting) I don't think they would be upset over losing a contract over 1 house

Totally different concept since materials have monetary and therefore legal value.

Janzen is allowed to change his mind up until the time signs. Do I wish he had done this another way? Yes. Is it a big deal? No.

I'll also add that anyone who calls him out and who also agrees with what Les did, is behaving hypocritically. AFterall, it's a business right? JJ did what was best for himself, right?

So do CBs in the SEC. The better CBs your team has, the better your defense is. the better your defense is, the more games you win. The more games you win the more fan support you receive. The more fan support you receive the more $$$ you recieve.

Sure he is, and I'm also allowed to call him a piece of shite for doing so.

Why? Are you really that upset about it? There are a ton better reasons to get pissed off every day(Like that a-hole in traffic this morning that spent 15 minutes letting people turn left instead of going so I could get to class on time) than an 18 year old kid making the decision he thought was best for him.

The bold part is where you lose me. You, me, Stout, none of us know what interactions Coach Miles and JJ had yesterday. We can make alot of our opinions based off of assumptions.

Really? How do you figure. Was Benton Committed to LSU? No. He took a visit to Auburn several weeks ago. He could have RE-committed anytime this year, but hadn't done so publicly and just visited another school.

Les didn't take a commitment from a guy only to tell him he'd be walking on after he signed his LOI, he simply told a guy there wasn't a spot for him anymore when he tried to commit.

and thats really what it boils down to.

dude said he went to Tenn and knew that it was the right place for him. cant really get mad at him for that.

but you can get mad at Kiffin for whispering in his ear making him keep it a secret and lie about it

That's like the third time that I have read that post from you. It's not the same and I am fine with both because I have no idea what happened behind the scene with either of these kids. And I am not going to make any assumptions in either of these situations.

They had none. I would imagine if JJ had told Les yesterday that he had sent his LOI in to tennessee already, Les wouldn't still be confident about him last night at the bash.

I am making my opinion off the kid and his father lying to everyone at LSU. Because unlike stout I'm going to actually believe the direct quotes that came out of Janzen's mouth this morning after he publicly committed, saying he knew he was going to tennessee when he was there on his visit.
