Scouting Report:

Owns outstanding length for a skill player, especially in the arms. A do-it-all utility man on Friday nights that has put together some of the best wide receiver tape in the Sunshine State for the 2022 cycle, but is viewed by most college recruiters as a defensive back at the next level. Gets aggressive with his hands and has experience playing bump-and-run coverage. Does a nice job of feeling out routes and keeping his eyes on the quarterback while gaining depth. Longer reach helps eliminate certain throws while elite ball skills can result in takeaways. Speed is more of a build up than sudden, but he has shown that he’s capable of hanging with quick pass catchers that try to get vertical. Understands how to mirror with his hips, but still has plenty to learn on the defensive side of the ball. Should be able to contribute on a variety of different special teams throughout his college career given his wide-ranging skill set and could double as a return man as he’s rather dangerous in the open field. Well respected by both his teammates and coaches and was one of the main reasons why his school made it to the state semifinals as a junior. Likely to make an impact after a year or two on campus given how he moves around and makes things look easy. Could find a home at corner or safety depending on program needs. Might even have offensive coaches fighting to get him some reps at wide receiver if the injury bug hits. Has a chance to eventually develop into an NFL Draft pick.

Because of that push, Thomas returned to Baton Rouge on his own dime this past week after making an official visit to campus with his family in June.
"It was a great visit, as well," Thomas said. "Going down to Baton Rouge is always going to be great. I am not really looking at the glitz and glamour, I am looking at the developmental standpoint. And it was great, as always."
As for LSU's pitch, the message of playing cornerback at the college level has matched what Florida's staff has pitched in recent months.
"To be honest, it’s the same. They like my length and how I move, and then Coach Raymond talks about how he will develop me," he said. "It’s a lot of the same things.

Very rare do I see a picture of Mullen where he doesn't look like a complete tool.

Seems to be Florida gained a lot of momentum with him over the weekend, hopefully we pull this one out.

Where are you getting that read from?

VIP article from shea on 247.
He visited us on Friday, before our event, then visited UF for their weekend event right after. He was really gushing about his visit he had and Shea lowered his CB confidence of 8 to 5.

Yikes!! My friend GeauxGreeks told me that I haven't made a commitment watch thread that ever ended badly. Let's hope that continues

He's a silent commit

Mmm gotcha. That's disappointing to hear but hopefully we still get him.

Florida. LSU insiders don't feel confident.

If that's the case it's about time once of these threads backfires on me

We'll see. Both sites still have it 100% LSU but Shea did lower his confidence although it's still a 5 which isn't that bad.

I'm praying we get him because I asked Shea what other DBs that we have on the board past Ausberry and there was no reply haha
It's like Thomas and Perkins (LB) are it or we go portal.

Gut feeling or you know something? Iota hinted he committed last week, and Azareyeh doesn’t strike me as one to play both sides. But it happens.

I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t choose LSU. I know he had a great visit to Florida, but there’s been LSU smoke for a long time and I don’t think that magically disappeared in one weekend. I could be wrong, but I have a good feeling about Thomas.

Shea said there’s some optimism on LSU side. Don’t know how this is gonna play out but hopefully he ends up in purple and gold.
