Yard Leveling Help
I had a tree removed in my front yard this spring, put sod down in that area, and now it’s growing very well. However, I did a shitty job getting the dirt in line with the area around it and now I have a slightly raised mound of turf where the tree once was. Do I have options to get it in line with all of my other turf outside of removing that area and trying again? The mound isn’t crazy high or anything, but I have to be careful when I’m mowing or I’ll scalp the edges of the sod badly.

A mound might be a blessing in disguise when everything settles.

I’m probably showing my ignorance here, but how long would you estimate it takes that dirt to fully settle where the tree once was? It’s probably been 3.5 months since I laid the sod down.

I had a pecan tree removed and stump ground up.. I guess the rest of the roots rotted all the way and with all this rain I'm getting a sink hole. Fixin to have to haul in dirt...
That was 3 years ago.

Even if you ground the stump, there is a large portion of the root network left behind. As that decomposes, you will see gradual subsidence.
