Anyone have any experience with this type of window film covering?

I’m looking to do the windows on my garage doors. My garage has been crazy hot and I’ve insulated the walls, ceiling, and have insulated garage doors. This window film may do nothing, but I figure it’s worth a try.

I've used it to extend the life of a few windows with broken seals.

There is a quite noticeable difference between the amount of radiant heat felt on the other side of those windows when they're receiving direct sun before vs. after applying the tint. Before the tint I could feel alot of heat, after the tint I don't notice any radiant heat. They're hotter to the touch so there's probably more conduction going on but overall I believe there's a notable net reduction of heat gain.

Did you notice any color change in the window after the tint was put on?

Looking out the window everything is more neutral colored and less warm/orange/sunny colored.

I had it done on our French doors and one bedroom and it definitely helped cut down on the amount of heat coming through. Also provided a little more privacy when looking from outside, just make sure you pick a brand that doesn’t look too mirrored. We used a 3M brand, going on 3 years it’s held up well.
