Will a space walk on my grass kill it?
Looking to put a space walk on my lawn for the weekend while we have a party. I’m worried that it’s gonna kill the grass. Anything I can do to help it not? Extra water before we place it?

It will probably be on the lawn around 30 hrs

Speaking from experience, No, you’ll be fine. I would not wet the ground, try to keep it as dry as possible. A wet area near a highly traffic area like the entrance or exit may kill the grass in that area. May want to place a tarp near the exits and entrances to avoid ruts/detaching grass from the soil

It shouldn't kill it. It may discolor it, but it won't kill it.

I had to leave my trashbin out on our sidewalk grass the other weekend (provider typically picks up Friday, didn't come until Monday). When I moved it back, the grass was brown where it had been sitting had turned a yellowish brown, but it bounced back in a day or two of sun.

This was Bermuda in northeast Atlanta metro area.

Dry as possible it will be fine for that long. Wet it and it may rot underneath and/or traffic will Rut it up and make a mess.

Thanks. Worked too damn hard to get my zoysia to this point and would hate to smother it over a weekend

It will be fine. Definitely do NOT wet it. You will have a mud pit at the entrance/exit.

Even if it does kill the grass, 10 years from now you'll be thinking about that awesome time you had a spacewalk for 30 hours not the grass.

Wont kill it at al under the water part. They lay out a black vinyl type thing on the entrance side sometimes. If that gets hot it will burn the heck out of it.

As my mom use to tell my dad... “We’re raising kids not grass” let them enjoy the yard it will always bounce back.
