Anyone ever install one of these? Living in GA, it will stay cool in spring and fall, but the humidity spikes. I looked at ultraire and aprilaire. Seems pretty straightforward to duct it. Just wanted to see if anyone had any experience doing it.

Following. I’ve not installed one but I plan to. I thought I’d wait until until I replaced my older HVAC and have it done at the same time, but the HVAC seems to be chugging along, so I’m rethinking this and may do it sooner than later. But you are right, it seems to be a very straightforward procedure for installation. I suppose the only complicating factor for a DYIer (if that is what you are thinking) would be whether or not you have a semi-conditioned spray foamed attic need to utilize the fresh air intake component and possibly going having to through the roof to install that.
If you need or want more technical details you can register on the HVAC-Talk forum for homeowners and have Teddy Bear answer any question you might have. Teddy Bear is a retired engineer who helped design and develop the Ultra-Aire dehumidifier system, and all the HVAC pros who answer homeowner questions on that site defer to him on whole house dehumidifier questions. But by forum rules, they don’t provide DYI advice if you are considering this as a potential DYI project. Teddy Bear does emphasize that when installing a whole house dehumidifier that is important to have your HVAC operating at optimal efficiency to gain maximum benefit of the dehumidifier, and he’ll provide technical details on why that is important if asked.
Here are a couple posts from that site on whole house dehumidifiers with the second one a recent post from someone in Baton Rouge, but not me. There are many more post on this topic on this site and I’ve bookmarked a bunch of them for future reference when I have one installed. Seems like HVAC companies in Baton Rouge don’t have much experience in installing these units as they are not common in this area.

Home we bought recently has one with the hvac unit. It works great and autoruns when the humidity inside gets to a certain level.

Agree with crawdude's post. I installed an ultra-aire myself this past winter and happy with it. I suppose the diy difficulty level depends on your exact access and layout. The concept is easy.
