I have a kidney shaped pool and unfortunately for me, my neighbor's Crepe Myrtle is right next to our fence and it dumps trash in my pool all day long. I would like to get a pool cover made that I can leave on it during the day when the pool is not in use. Given it is a custom kidney shaped pool, I don't think buying a cover online would work. Does anyone know someone in the Baton Rouge area that can come measure the pool and have a cover made for it?

I would think that finding one online would be a lot easier and cheaper than just in Baton Rouge.

And welcome to the club of owning a pool near a crepe myrtle. It's not a fun club, but we like to curse and threaten to chop trees down a lot, but our wive's are always there to remind us how pretty crepe myrtles are.

frick CREPE MYRTLES!!!!!

As a recent club member (1 year ago) I think I have finally gotten the all clear for deletion... very soon that bastard is coming down, and a Sweetbay Magnolia will be replacing it

Gone will be the days of hundreds of flowers and leaves in my pool after a heavy wind storm

It isn't practical to be honest. A custom made pool cover is a "safety cover". They are not made to be taken off and on daily.

The only type of daily on/off covers are 1) solar (won't help with this) and 2) auto covers which use a track and need to be installed. The auto cover won't be practical with a kidney shaped pool.

Solar pool skimmer robot. Expensive. Just started looking into them for myself.

Thats really not the case.

I know of several people that just went with the rectangle. They make them much larger as well, just grabbed this pic as an example.

I have flower beds and palm trees that won't allow me to go with a rectangular cover.

I don't think my neighbors would be a fan of me taking out their old, tall and honestly really pretty tree. If it was mine...it would be a no brainer. But, I'm sure they don't really care what it's doing to my pool. Well, at least not enough for them to agree to let me take it out.

Maybe you should come to them and explain your predicament with their tree. Offer to remove and replace with an evergreen option of their choice. I dunno, maybe worth a try, they'll probably say no though and you'll feel like an idiot.

Bring them over to swim on a saturday, with the pool all clean. Don't clean the pool after and let them come on Sunday and see the 3,249 flowers that fell in the pool overnight.

yes, this looks like it would be a great solution, but I haven't found one with solid reviews for those that have owned them more than a season. It seems as though they are all Chinese made and simply cannot stand up to the sun and corrosive conditions that the pool presents. If you find one that has a lot of reviews from customers over multiple seasons...please post a link!

That looks terrible. The tracks are in no man’s land over the deck.

the action or capability of understanding something.

5 days later and you come back with this strawman tact rather than admit you were just shooting from the hip? AKA talking out your arse.

Tracks are a part of auto covers. A larger cover would allow the further spacing of the tracks. Just letting the OP know that there are options out there.
But you do you sparky.

Ok I took this advice and pulled the trigger on the NX2. It’s only been 1 day, but it works. It does have a problem getting blocked by my Polaris hose, so I will need to get done weights for that. But, it seems to work and it’s kind of cool watching it do its thing.

Awesome. I'm waiting to see how the Instapark Betta works. It's cheaper than most I've seen. Also, looking at the Skim Devil that is releasing soon. I attempted to get the boat skimmer RC toy to hold me over and have some fun, but it was DOA, and the reviews are horrible, so I returned it the same day.
