Any advice on overseeding process?
Centipede lawn, most of it gets full or near full sun. I’m trying to fill in bare spots and generally thicken lawn which I’ve recently graded/leveled with sand.

Looking to overseed front, side, and rear yard ideally. Just wondering if there’s a cheaper place than big box store.

Where are you located and how much are you looking to buy? Cleggs nursery in BR has some bags of 1lb and what I think is 5lb bags of Tifblair. 5lb bag is like $240 though.

Does centipede grow well from seed? How much improvement from over seeding would one expect?

I’m in mandeville and I could easily use 5 lbs but I’m not looking to drop 240.00

Honest question...
But shouldn't centipede fill in pretty quick? Are you bare spots huge?

Wait and plant in June or july. It will take a couple years to look good. Buy a plugger if you have a good spot to get some from and plug it but over seed it as well

It doesn’t seed very well. But you don’t want to just throw it on a bare spot. I always suggest aerating, seeding and then top dressing.

Man I don’t know what happened to my centipede this year, but it is in bad shape and doesn’t look to be coming back in my front yard so I said screw it. I’m having a company come out and put down empire zoysia. I was going to do it all myself but I need a lot of fill also so I’m going with the instant gratification.
