What refrigerator brand to buy?

My extra refrigerator may have given up the ghost. Wife hates the small water/ice dispenser pocket on the door of our main fridge because it only accommodates a kid sized cup. To appease her I’m considering moving the main unit to the backup’s place and replacing the main one.
What should I buy? I currently have a plain ole
LG (as well as LG dishwasher and gas range) French door stainless style in my kitchen. The house isn’t super expensive or fancy so no need to discuss Viking or SubZero level stuff.
Who makes a good consumer grade French door stainless refrigerator with a door pocket big enough to dispense into a 32oz yeti tumbler without turning it sideways? (It’s the little things in life and that one item will make my wife happy)

I went with Whirlpool on all my appliances. The reason being (to keep it short) is all makers shoot to have their products last 10 years. Whirlpool has the tightest bell curve on the 10 yr mark making it the most likely to last 10 yrs but also likely to start failing afterwards.
Specifically I went with this one from Best Buy. The selling points for me were the main ice maker being in the door so it wasn't taking up much fridge space and a 2nd ice maker in the freezer.
I have had no issues with any of my appliances yet.
Btw, here is my yeti

I went GE and it hasn't had any issues.
My friend went samsung and had to replace it in like 2 years and he went Whirlpool as did my mom

Nothing to add to the list, but
May want to look into internal water dispensers. May not solve getting ice into the tumbler, but will resolve the water issue.

There’s a hisense counter depth fridge at Lowe’s that I’m eyeing. I’ve been keeping an eye for a scratch and dent.
Garage fridge.
Garage fridge.

I’ve also had good luck with Whirlpool kitchen appliances, particularly refrigerators, but I realize most major appliances today are not as robust as those made in years past. I’d avoid LG and Samsung appliances based solely on what I’ve read on this board over the years.

I have KitchenAid, but who knows what's 'best.' They're all the damn same at this point. Pieced together with the same parts made in some sweat shop in China. Pick one that appeals to your aesthetic and functionality needs.
On another note, did you ever figure out what was causing the energy usage issues at your dad's house? I've been curious.

Ours is GE from Lowe’s. Slate color; side by side. 6 years never an issue.

Lol. Good follow up. No I told my dad to order a clamp meter and I’d work on it for him. As per the norm, he never bothered so I haven’t brought it up again.
I think he argued with Demco and they did something to fix it for him. There may have been a significant error in reading the meter. Like it was off by an order of magnitude.

Ha, I'm hoping he figured it out with Demco if it was as far off as an order of magnitude. That would suck paying those bills!
Good luck with the fridge search! Let us know what you end up with.

Nothing to add in regards on what to buy. Do NOT buy a Samsung though. Complete pieces of shite when it comes to appliances.

I’m thinking it’ll end up being a kitchen aId. I’m gonna go look at some this weekend. Discussed it with the wife lastnight and she handed me a cup and said “I don’t care what you buy as long as this fits in the ice dispenser door”. I got you covered, babe.

I have GE Adora french door from Home Depot (exclusive to HD). It fits big ol' cups (even several pitchers). Selling point for me was the autofill - set cup down, press a button and it fills your cup for you. It makes enough ice for 2 plus 2 half people no problem. Very happy with this fridge so far.

My Samsung has been going strong for 9 years.

I would avoid Samsung, LG and my personal experience with Electrolux was terrible.
I bought a built in Electrolux soon after we bought our house. It was a nice, expensive fridge (like $7k). We constantly had issues with it.
No chance in hell I would even consider an Electrolux now.
We replaced it with a GE profile a few years ago with no complaints

Damnit. Guess I should have consulted here before I bought a new Samsung a few months ago
It’s got 2 ice makers which is cool though. Hope It doesn’t crap out on me
