What would be a rough estimate for weekly cutting/edging/etc for a half acre yard?

I always swore I'd do my own yard, but this heat has me reconsidering...

Half acre? $40-60 depending, I’d say

Sun comes up at 5:30. Start earlier. If you can’t handle 70-80 degrees that another story.

I pay $65 but it’s a tad high - my neighbors get theirs done for $50 for half acres

Best bet is to find a young guy in your area that will do it. If you hire a lawn company they normally charge you travel time from nearest previous lawn and base their price on the amount of edging/weedeating more so than rider cutting time. At a smooth $1/min. This is the case in my area anyways. I cut my own grass.

$25 per cut for me. Don't know my yard size exactly but I live in a pretty normal cookie cutter neighborhood in Houston.

My go to with a hangover. First few minutes is terrible, but the sweat starts pouring and the alcohol is released from my body. Works way better for me than self-loathing on the couch.

I mow about a dozen yards as a side job. It depends on how much stuff is in your yard and weedeating time but $40-60 most likely.

Because I don't cut my own grass? In the time it would take me to maintain a mower, get gas and actually mow, weedeat, edge and blow, I can make 10 times what I pay my yard guy.

sounds like you're poor.

We moved a couple of years ago; fired the lawn service that we used at previous house.

Commercial lawn crew was mowing the yard next door. I walked out and went to talk to the crew leader looking guy. Asking if he wanted to do mine on the side.

2 years later still going strong at $40/week. He does it all--mow, weedeat, flowerbeds, plants flowers.
