It’s back. I know it’s been discussed here before but I can’t find anything about it. How can it be killed/treated/eradicated from existence???

I spoke with a friend who owns a fertilizer company and he said that ever since the 2016 flood it has been a pain to deal with because the seeds spread into so many yards and now it just keeps spreading. He does a good job of keeping it out of yards but I have to say once its in, its like its not getting out. My neighbor said this celsius stuff works really well but i havent tried it. Here is the link LINK

I sprayed MSM Turf last Monday, but it hasn't done much to it yet.

Celcius/MSM/Blindside

It’s a war of attrition. Will last for years.

I have it pretty bad in my yard. Celsius will knock it back but you need to keep spot spraying and stay on top of it. Even with thick grass it'll find a way to come back.

All the herbicides that have been mentioned and you can add Fertilome Weed-Free-Zone to the that list, but air temp needs to in mid 80s or below when using Weed-Free-Zone otherwise it can harm the desirable turf grass.

You can’t eradicate VBW, but it does require consistent follow-up spraying at 3 to 4 week intervals to keep it in check. Learn to ID it when it newly emerges and the plant is young (before flowering) as the herbicides are more effective on young VBW, and that’s pretty true of all weeds.

I try to stay on top of it, I will go out when the ground is wet and pull it up. You got to try to get all the runners when you are pulling it up. Put it in a bucket and haul it off.
Spot spraying helps too.

MSM works. Treat it then re-treat in a month. It stopped putting out the little white flowers and the foliage is starting to turn brown. Give it 4-6 weeks, but it works.
Use 1/8 teaspoon to 1 gal. water in pump-up sprayer. It's not oil based so outside temp. is not a consideration.

I don’t know what happened but my yard has been free of it this year. I just put down prodiamine (doesn’t control VB?) twice per year and a high nitrogen fertilizer.

I’ve used this stuff before and it’s crazy to me how little is needed.

I have this problem for the second year. I mix Celsius+MSM+NIS and it does the job take 2-4 weeds to notice it.

Will just pulling it work? I’ve had patches that I pulled, but I’ve noticed some coming back.

I've been working on mine. After the initial treatment go out every 2 weeks and spot spray. My neck is sore from staring down at the grass but I'm making huge progress. Gotta stay consistent though.
