I currently have these basic motion sensored Security Lights (using incandescent lights) outside my home The sensors seem to have failed and I'm looking to upgrade to a LED light system with motion activation. There are so many choices. I'm fine with a 2 light, motion activated LED system. Any recs or specific brands to avoid or should I just pick up the cheapest system that fits my needs from Lowe's/Home Depot?

TIA

If you want a camera, I would go with the Ring floodlight camera. Wire it into the existing spot and hook up to WIFI.

I bought these off of Amazon a year or so ago and they're super bright. I'd buy them again. Also, I had one that ended up getting water inside the housing, I emailed them about it and they sent me a new one no questions asked....not to mention they're cheap and only $36.

I recently got a set of the color adjustable 3 LED light dumb flood light from Halo and am super happy with them on their lowest color level. They have dual light motion sensor kinds and are for sale at HD or Lowes but I got mine from Amazon.

Got low profile Eatons on my house (new construction), love them. Electricians said not to get the brightest ones, they were obnoxiously bright like department stores, so I got one step down. About 110 bucks a light.

The flat ones With big eyes or the low profile normal looking ones?

The flat corner one looks pretty neat.

Boy I like the look of those, but it seems they’re discontinued.

These sound like something I'd be interested in. Mind sharing the link?

I went through the same thing a few months ago and with motion sensor I didnt realize you needed to get a fixture specifically for eaves on a house if thats where your wiring currently goes. Most security lights on the market are for wall mounting and if you try to mount them in the eave, you can position the motion sensor correctly. Something to keep in mind.

I have 3 rings. 2 spots and 1 flood. Am I the only one who thinks the video quality is pretty crappy? Trying to get a good face shot is near impossible unless the perp is 10 feet away.

That doesn't surprise me. I have seen some YouTube reviews where the ring cameras didn't even come close to other security cameras in image quality.
