Top dress centipede - today
Figured what the hell, used Scotts lawn soil instead of white sand because i was rushing to beat the rain.

Covered an area 30x50....first shower about 10 min ago. Almost totally washed down already. Good bit of small wood chips left over now.

fertilized day before yesterday with Scotts lawn food 32-0-10 on a bit more than light (5.0 Scotts rotary) top dressed over the area i fertilized.

Opinions on these product? Usually stay away from Scotts after bad bonus s experience a few years ago.

I've read that you really shouldn't fertilize centipede so I stopped a few years back. Yard looks way healthier now.
The fertilizer would green it up, but I always had issues with weeds and I found it wouldn't thicken up. Just my experience. YMMV

Edit: I was using 15-0-15 at the time.

I have used lawn food lightly on centipede in the past to green it up a little. I don’t anymore just cause I got worried I would frick up my grass. Just milorganite and a lot of water.

I’ve been using Lesco Professional 15-0-15 with 2% iron in the spring and late summer and usually have one of the greenest yards in the neighborhood from April until November. It’s time released and keeps it good and green for about 90 days. 15-0-15 is the best combination for both centipede and St Aug. I don’t think zoysia likes a bunch of nitrogen either.

That 30% plus nitrogen is best for grasses like Bermuda.

I need to try this but I’m too lazy to go anywhere besides the Lowe’s down the street.
